Another incredible wedding in the books!!

Sneak Peek Alert - Ariel and Mike!
Another amazing wedding weekend in the books! This time, we had the pleasure to work with Ariel and Mike as well as their awesome bridal party, family, and friends. Ariel and Mike got married inside the beautiful chapel at Immanuel Lutheran Church. After their ceremony, we visited a local park for photographs. It was a overcast day that created a beautiful soft light for photographs. On our very last photography with only two minutes to spare, it started raining. It was perfect timing at the end of our session outside. We then headed to their reception and celebrated in style. At the end of the night, we spent a few minutes outside creating some dramatic photos after sunset. Congratulations again to Ariel and Mike!

Happy Friday!!! I hope you have as much fun as these two did on their wedding day! 🤍

Last week I had the chance to check out Lauren + Cory Williams gallery from Mill & Main Photography and HOLY COW I don’t think I’ve ever seen more pure joy and happiness as I did in these photos and not only just from Lauren + Cory but everyone who was around them. I honestly found myself cheesin’ as much as Lauren was this day as I was looking through all the photos.

It was so fun to look back through theses and relive this day 😍 can’t wait to share more!

Yesterday I tagged along with Erica and her team at Elite Events for was the most dreamy backyard wedding! The morning started out SUPER foggy with uncertainty on how the day would be but it turned out to be the most beautiful day!

The day was extra special since Brittney + Ryan were getting married at their home, where Brittney grew up. Brittney + Ryan are now the FIFTH generation of Thompson’s to live on the property and they even had a painting on display of the home back in the day. I’m just a sucker for a story like that! 🤍

Everything from the location to the paper was just absolutely stunning! 😍

Have you ever heard that Eric Church song “Springsteen” and he says “funny how a melody sounds like a memory”

Melody was my Grandma’s last name, which in turn is my mom’s maiden name! Music and my Grandma Melody basically go hand in hand for me as we would always go to any of the musicals that came to town or the latest shows at Detroit Opera House - which she enjoyed so much as a season ticket holder for YEARS!

I was going back and forth for a weeks after completing my first wedding about picking a name so I could have some sort of identity and I just kept coming back to Melody!

So I took Colleen out to lunch and asked her what she thought - spoiler alert we all cried - and it was official!!!!

I want to help you make your wedding or event one for the dang books that you will remember forever! Just like your favorite song 🤍

Hey y’all I’m Courtney! I’ll be 28 years old at the end of the month 😳 I’m an enneagram 6 who thinks tacos and lattes should be considered part of the love languages. I’m obsessed with true crime and reality tv - this is a no judgment zone people!!! And most importantly I am a dog mom to a Pyrendoodle named Brady.

I was “born and raised in South Detroit”—kidding, kind of—and finally made the big move to a neighborhood in Detroit called West Village a little over two years ago and I just love being in this city 😍 There’s also a 11/10 chance you can find me at the neighborhood bar Two Birds at some point during the weekend.. I’m a sucker for a good craft cocktail🍸

This pandemic has taken a toll on so many aspects of our lives and for me personally, it’s really helped me realize what’s important. I’ve come out of this realty asking myself “what brings me joy?” and “what fills my cup?” So here we are!

Getting married? Planning an event? Hi. Hello. I’m your girl! 🙋🏻‍♀️

But in all honesty, I can’t wait to help create the wedding or event of your dreams!

This last year I was given way too many reminders that life is short and you need to make the best of it. If it’s not bringing you joy.. why are you doing it? Someone who showed me this in every aspect of their life was my Grandma Melody. She👏🏻did👏🏻it👏🏻allll and she always encouraged me to go for it and take the chances and do the things that bring you joy. So I couldn’t think of anything better than naming my event planning company after her 🤍 soooo introducing… Melody Weddings + Events

I’ve always loved planning events (TBT sorority recruitment) and helping my friends with their weddings. Back in August I did my first wedding for a family friend and FELL IN LOVE. It was the longest day but not once was I like this sucks 😂 it was pretty much the complete opposite. So I’ve been thinking to myself why the hell not?! I’ve always been a hopeless romantic and as cheesy as this sounds, I just love love and I couldn’t be more excited for this next adventure!

If you know someone who is getting married and is still looking for a wedding coordinator I would love if you could pass my info along, it would mean the world to me as I’m trying to build my dream side hustle! 🤍
