At District 5, we’re honored to share Riopelle Street in Eastern Market Partnership with esteemed neighbors who embody Detroit’s rich history and vibrant community spirit. Henry The Hatter, established in 1893, stands as America’s oldest retail hat store, having weathered every war, depression, recession, and riot over its 130-year history. Detroit City Distillery crafts small-batch artisanal spirits, celebrating the city’s rich distilling heritage. Midnight Temple introduces a modern twist as an Indian gastropub, adding diverse flavors to our neighborhood. Strauss Brothers , a revived family-run brand, offers small-batch Eastern Market products rooted in a 1954 Detroit butchery legacy. Eastern Market Brewing Co is a community-focused craft brewery and taproom that provides locals and visitors with a refreshing place to gather and drink beer. Together, we take immense pride in contributing to the legacy and future of Eastern Market, supporting local businesses, and fostering a community rooted in history and innovation.
