Detroit Harmony at Woodhaven Highschool
Help us get instruments into the hands of students! Detroit Harmony's metro-wide, new or used instrument drive continues through November 16. Visit dso.org/instruments to donate and learn more.
Last week, Detroit Harmony gifted instruments to 13 students with special needs at Woodhaven High School to support their participation in the national United Sound program. United Sound removes barriers and fosters social change through music by pairing special education students with peer mentors, leading to greater inclusion in school band and orchestra programs. In the past, Woodhaven students borrowed whatever instruments were available, but with the help of Detroit Harmony, students have now received an instrument of their choice to keep forever.
