Scene: when garments get a second life!

As we’re gearing up for our event where music and art converge for a Blues Symphony experience, artist met up with Hope For Flowers By Tracy Reese to gather sustainable fabrics and garments that will contribute to a large-scale collage.

Join us September 13 for Chromesthesia: Creating Sound and Color in Art & Music, a community engagement activation, where live music, discussion, and collage-making work together to explore the ways artists capture sound in visual art and musicians create color in music.

Create with us: Detroit Month of Design is almost here! Join us at Orchestra Hall, Saturday, 9/13 for a learn-and-make afternoon exploring how artists capture sound in visual art and musicians create color in music. Hear a live musical demonstration from orchestra members and take your inspiration into a collage-making workshop led by artists Judy Bowman and Jay Holladay.

The "Chromesthesia: Creating Sound and Color in Art and Music" workshop, celebrates the DSO’s new recording of Wynton Marsalis’s “Blues Symphony,” for which Judy Bowman was commissioned to create the limited-edition vinyl release cover art. Explore this free, family-friendly event: bit.ly/3V4xmQ8
