What’s with the Pingk triangle?

At Haus of Pingk, we embrace the powerful history of the pink triangle within a circle as a symbol of resilience, pride, and safe community. Once used to oppress, this emblem was reclaimed by the LGBTQIA+ community as a badge of strength and courage. In the 1990s, a pink triangle enclosed in a green circle became a widely recognized sign of “safe spaces” in workplaces and schools, signaling inclusion and support for LGBTQ+ individuals.

Today, we continue this legacy by honoring both the struggles we’ve faced and the safe spaces we’ve built together. In reclaiming the symbol, we’re not only remembering history but also fostering a future where all can freely and proudly be themselves.

DJ Erikk Raphael, a Detroit native with over 20 years of experience, primarily focused on circuit and tribal beats. His musical journey has evolved into the soulful and enchanting realm of Afro House, where he masterfully blends rich, percussive elements inspired by traditional African rhythms with captivating vocals that tell powerful stories. With three years as an active DJ, Erikk initially energized the scene with his high-energy sound. However, after two transformative years traveling through South America, he discovered a profound love for Afro House’s intricate drum patterns, lush melodies, and vibrant cultural fusion.

We are beyond excited to welcome to Haus of Pingk Haus Cast!

Dj Darryl G. started out with a love of music. That put together with just wanting music mixed together on a Cassette Tape. Darryl G. went into his bedroom with 2 pieces of Vinyl and learned how to mix by playing the music and recording it. After a while he auditioned for WDRQ with one of those tapes. The Party Princess (Lisa Lisa) called and asked him to join the DRQ Alstars. He met and began to work with Dj’s like John Collins & Stacey Hale. He also began the rounds making several appearances at local clubs doing guest spots and holding down several Different residencies. His love of all different kinds of music continues to be a driving force behind the sound that Dj Darryl G. brings to an event.
