The Detroit Fitness Foundation, a 501c3 Mi Non Profit, owns and operates the Lexus Velodrome and its programming.
Here is our new MISSION STATEMENT:

The City Kid
What if you were a city kid
And you wanted to ride a bike
But how could that ever be
When there was no bike in sight?

Or no sidewalk that was smooth enough
Or no person who would teach you
That dream of riding any bike
Was never going to reach you

That dream of flying through the air
Of going super fast
Of having your own “wheels”
That would never require gas

So without a chance to ride a bike
Maybe even learn to go no handed
That dream would never ever be
It would have to be disbanded

But wait!! and what??
Whatever could that be?
That huge ginormous big white thing
Is there something there for me?

I can’t imagine what’s Inside
That giant big white dome
I’ve heard it said it’s pretty cool
It’s called a Velodrome?

There’s bikes inside and lessons too?
And all of it is free.
Yes, hooray, there’s something in there
Something there for me!

Free to learn to ride a bike
Free to learn to race
Free to feel the wind go fast and
Blow against my face

Free to make me feel so great
Free to learn something new
I am a kid who’s learned to ride
And now there’s nothing I can’t do!

Monday & Wednesday: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Tuesday & Thursday: 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM

We’re also thrilled to partner with Embrace Sportz, a year-round youth organization offering programs in track, basketball, soccer, E-Sports, and lacrosse. Embrace Sportz fosters confidence, teamwork, and growth for kids aged 5-18, providing accessible, positive environments to keep young athletes engaged and thriving.

We’re applying for the SRAM Community Grant, and this could mean big things for our programs! To strengthen our application, we’re asking for letters of support from our Velodrome community. If you’ve been a part of our track in any way, would you consider sharing your experience in a short letter?

Attention Riders: The 2024 Mi State Madison Championships on Nov 9th will have upto 3 categories: SemiPro A, SemiPro B and Juniors. The final categories will be determined by the number of
Madison Teams racing. I don't think we have enough Madison Teams to have age categories. Let's discuss with Luke & Jon at Tuesday/Thursday night workouts this week. Stay tuned!!!

Senior Workout Wednesdays Temporarily Suspended

Hello Seniors!

We have an update regarding the senior workouts on Wednesdays. Angela, who led our sessions at the Detroit Fit Studio from 10 AM to 11 AM, has been promoted and is unable to continue for the next 14 weeks. Unfortunately, this means the Wednesday workouts will be on pause for now as we look into finding someone new to lead them.

We sincerely apologize for the short notice—we just received this information today.

In the meantime, all seniors are still welcome to use the facility Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 12 PM, free of charge. If you'd like to visit outside of these hours, the cost is $5 per visit. You can also purchase a digital punch card: 5 visits for $20 ($4 per visit) or 10 visits for $30 ($3 per visit).
