Your preview of Metamorphosis by M. Draughn
This short video will tell you the story of how "Metamorphosis" (which will premiere at our first concert on Nov. 7th at 4:00pm) came together.
Some of you already know that composer/arranger/harpist Maurice Draughn studied with Pat Terry-Ross (at Cass). It was natural for the Eason Trio (Velda, Pat and myself) to commission a piece from him. He sent us the score very early in 2020 to be premiered in June...and of course, you know what happened. But we still wanted to play it (well kind of!) and for Maurice to hear it, so we recorded our parts, each in our own home, and Maurice put it together. This is a snippet of one of the mouvements. Then, in August when I could cross the border, we got together the 4 of us and played it through., As you know, I live now in Montréal, so I won't be the cellist for the premiere, but I am delighted that DSO cellist Úna O'Riordan will be playing for this concert!
