2025 — a year of new rhythms.

Here we are, 17 days into the new year and trying to find a new rhythm has seemed nearly impossible as 2024 ended with bumps in the road and 2025 started nothing how I expected. But I know that’s a word for me for 2025 — new rhythms. Not sure how it’ll play out, not sure what new notes, tones, textures or pauses will be part of the rhythm, but I’m eager to be in the flow of that rhythm.

I’m believing that I’ll look back at the end of the year and see that all the unpredictable moments and small adjustments created the rhythm I’ll be walking in.

Rhythm: a strong, regular, repeated pattern of movement or sound.

I know my current rhythm is far from strong, but I’ll get on beat sometime.

Psalm 40:2-3 — “He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God.”

One of those “pinch me” moments.

Early 2023 I stumbled upon 30a, FL and fell in love, immediately. From the photos and videos I saw I just knew I had to visit. Long story short, I met a new friend at a gathering for vendors in the wedding industry and we hit it off. She asked me what dream location I’d love to photograph in and I said with excitement, “I’m not sure if you’ve heard of it, but it’s 30a.” Her eyes wide, she said “I lived there, I just moved to Michigan from there!”

And now, one year and some months later — I was able to bike thru all that the charming 30a has to offer with my husband by my said. The cherry on top was that I was able to do an engagement session there, with their wedding celebration to bring me back.

Hoping this to be the first of many trips to come.

Boundaries are key. If you don’t set them, your business and other life demands will set them for you. You have to be intentional to make boundaries that work for you and your family! It’s trial and error and at times overwhelming. But, you’ll figure it, and regroup and figure it out again. It’s worth it. Make boundaries, stick to them, get used to saying no. You’ll find freedom there. Ps - I’m still a work in progress.
