My name is Sam Alexander and I am excited to announce that I am the new owner of Gilchrist Catering!

I was the Chef for Gilchrist Catering for four years, before taking over the business in September.

I would like to thank Bill Gilchrist for 25+ years of hard work and sacrifice, making Gilchrist Catering a success. I will continue to provide the same great service that our customers come to expect.

Cooking Class at Gilchrist Catering! We executed an intimate Birthday Party/Cooking Class for a young aspiring Chef and his family. On the menu; Escargot, French Onion Soup, Boeuf Bourguignon with Mashed Potatoes, and Berry Souffle. They all did a great job and it was just a whole lot of fun to be part of their special day! 👨‍🍳

Executed a very nice sit-down wedding dinner/reception last night. On the menu; NY Strip with Mushroom and Onion Ragout, Cornish Game Hen with Lingonberry Demi Glaze, Garlic Roasted Mushroom Potato's and Roasted Asparagus. Under new health orders from the state, there are no longer restrictions on indoor events. The change could have huge implications for the state's live event industry, which was essentially shutdown when the pandemic started, and has since been grappling with following strict rules.

Maintaining a resort-based Catering company, during a pandemic, has been nothing short of a year of change. Instead of curating amazing wedding meals for brides and grooms, or, delectable feasts for the many corporate groups and miscellaneous events that come to Summit County, we found the need to switch our business plan around, and in doing so, unearthed a new passion with food in feeding the elderly, the quarantined/isolated and the tireless volunteers, all who are most in need, through the extremely generous programs funded by Summit County and our local Rotary International Chapter.

There's an upcoming event we're really excited about, if you'd like to join us in some non-profit fun; this years May 1st 2021 Kentucky Derby hosted by Saint Anthony/Centura-Summit Medical Center. With the event size being scaled down, we were asked to do a cooking show video featuring a few of our fun Derby style foods. If you'd enjoy (or laugh hysterically) watching Chef Bill giving it his best as a Celebrity Chef, the presentation will play on TV 8 the evening of the Derby. We'll be posting more info in April on how you can attend, both near and far, and participate in this year's super fun, major fundraiser for our local hospital.

Weddings are getting just a little more normal. Thanks Silverthorne Pavillion for re-opening your facility. We were able to execute a beautiful sit down dinner last night with a great group of responsible mask wearing guests.
