Beginning Saturday, 17 August 2024 we at the Douglas Historical Society will be collaborating with Big Brothers Big Sisters and collecting unwanted fabrics of all kinds.
So if you’re looking for some place to drop off your old worn out clothes, blankets, anything else made of fabric… as long as it doesn’t have any odor, bring it in Saturday morning and put it in the bin.
They recycle the material and keep it out of the landfill.
Thanks for helping out.

Back in the day, this was the place to go for All your needs. The E. N. Jenckes Store WAS the modern day Walmart, Amazon, Temu, (what have you).
We’re told that Mr. Jenckes took care of his customers when times were tough. In the logbook’s we learned that he allowed the town’s people to pay for their purchases via barter systems. Whatever they could afford to give he accepted.

Come down for a guided tour with one of our Docents. Join our Membership. Take advantage of our many Volunteer opportunities.

Thank you for your unwavering support.

The Douglas Historical Society, Inc. thanks the FREEDOM QUILTERS OF MILLBURY for creating these (plus another one) beautiful quilts for our Veterans, who have protected our Freedom.
They do this without question for our Veterans to be wrapped in warmth to be protected and know that they are loved.
