I began session 3 of my therapeutic horticulture certification this week! I just love this program and I learn something new every week (my flower friend @foxglovefarmhouse told me about it when we were chatting all things gardening awhile back).
This semester is all about accommodating a range of abilities in programming, and how to make nature-based activities more adaptive and accessible for diverse populations.
At every workshop (like this recent one with @homeremedystudio at @northcountryhardcider!) I’m reminded of the power that flowers, observing nature and creating something can hold for more presence, joy, compassion, and connection in our daily lives. Statistics show the many ways nature can lower stress and anxiety and increase overall happiness and well-being. That sounds pretty good to me.
I have so many ideas for integrating this work into our mission here, and developing more programming to meet a variety of needs. It feels like this is just the beginning! 🌱
(Thanks to my social media savvy SIL Jen for creating this video, who has much more patience than I do for making reels. 😅)
Savoring the anemone while we have 'em. 😍 Next year I will definitely start these sooner so we have them for a longer stretch before heat. Always an experiment and more to learn around here!
Feeling extra festive after this weekend’s RyeNH400 historic home tour ✨
Just put our next North Country Hard Cider workshop up on the website (happening Sunday 11/19, 2-4 pm!) and felt like foraging for some fall goodies. It’s the best time of year for nature walks and bringing some beauty inside, if you ask me.
We’re going to be making holiday centerpieces at this one, just in time for your Thanksgiving table. There will deeefinitely be lots of leaves, berries, dried & fresh flowers, and other fall finds. 🍂✨
Grab your spot here: https://www.nowadaysflowers.com/shop/p/holiday-centerpiece-north-country Pssst these usually sell out pretty fast! Come grab a cider and spend a creative afternoon with us. 🤎
Clover’s debut: whatta weekend! 🛻 After a 24-hour scramble, our girl was ready for her close up much sooner than we expected. We posted up at @stonefacebrewing on Saturday morning (after a wood plank holding up the canvas top cracked on the ride there 😳) completely unsure of what to expect, and ended up having a blast. We met lots of flower-loving folks, drank great beers, made a bunch of bouquets, and ended up with exactly two stems left. We are so excited that you’re excited! And we can’t wait for more truck pop-ups to come. We’ve got a few lined up for May and June and we’re now booking for the rest of the season. If you’d like a flower truck at your private event, public market or retail opening, let’s chat! 💐
Ok friends, flower subscriptions are here! 🥳
This is something I’ve been scheming up for awhile now and I’m really looking forward to trying it out over the next month. Here’s how it works: every Thursday from August 25th - September 15th (four consecutive weeks), you’ll get one of our hand-wrapped bouquets. You can choose to pick it up at one of our fave local stores, Avelon Home in Portsmouth, at our stand in Dover, or we’ll deliver within 20 miles.
Since it’s our first trial run of a subscription program, I’m limiting the number of spots available and the cart will close on Wednesday. I’m not sure what to expect or how it will go 🤷♀️ but learning by doing is my favorite way to figure things out! What I know for sure is that there will be beautiful flowers for you every week, and there is nothing quite like a fresh bouquet to brighten up a room and infuse some peace and joy into your day. 💐

Building our website, putting this trial together and cutting flowers everyday has been so energizing, and I can’t wait to share more exciting things with you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for being here and supporting our dream! 💓
