Cpl. Sherrod was invited to the birthday party! The kids wanted to see the deputy and the vehicle but Cpl. Sherrod stopped and got a gift.

These positive connections with the kids in our community are priceless. We are helping to develop our future leaders.

"I was watching the video of this officer who saved this baby life who was 3 months at the time, he was off duty headed home until he seen this white car flagged him, he stopped and this black lady jumped out her car holding her lifeless baby boy the officer immediately jumped outta his car took the baby outta her hands did CPR on the baby! He called for help and told the mother to jump in her car while he took the baby in his police car to a nearby hospital!! If it wasn't for this officer this baby would've never made it!! Thanks to this officer Jay Nix he saved the baby life!!

He posted a couple hours ago saying "HIS GOD SON" Is now 7 months old, and the baby spends the weekend with them and nights!! This baby was placed in his life for a reason....it's still good officers out here and it's not always about the color, this story was very touching ❤️🙏🏾❤️
