Where the inspiration comes from.
A friend asked me the other day if I had a favorite photograph. Like, out of all of them.
I have thought about this myself often, over 15 years of photographing this sport I have had favorite photos along the way, but there is not one single moment that stands out the most.
There are moments in my portfolio that were historically monumental for our sport or have made me see my work in a different way and have pushed my perspective forward.
There are also sentimental moments and those that have had more significant meaning because of the passage of time.
All of these moments is where my inspiration comes from, and all of the beautiful people that play this sport.
The most humbling of them all is the passage of time.
Going into Ledgestone of 2018 I took the time to reflect on some of my past work and I decided to print out copies of some of my favorites, from a decades worth of work, and hand them out to the people I've captured.
From Paul McBeth's and Paige Pierce's first National Tour win at the Memorial in 2011, to Cale Leiviska's win at the Vibram (Maple Hill Open) in 2012, Sarah Hokom's World Championship win in 2012 and so much more in between.
It was so much fun sharing the past with them in this printed form, the whole experience was very humbling.
So I was thinking, I want to share with you some of my most memorable moments from my career here, in the days to come, to hopefully inspire your heart too.
@mikezivano thank you for asking the question.
My Dad at Pine Nursery in Bend Oregon circa 2019.
I love this course and I love this moment. “Go! That’s perfect.” ☺️💜
