I’m sad that my last day of the season at the Downingtown Farmer’s Market is over. I’ve met some lovely people and had a great time sharing my locally grown flowers. I’m very excited about the 2025 season. I’ll start with heirloom narcissi in March, tulips in April, peonies, ranunculus, anemones and other early spring flowers in May. June through October will be warm season annuals like sunflowers, zinnias, gladiolus, celosia and more. I have a busy fall planting season ahead. See you in the spring!

mixed bouquets with lots of dahlias, sunflowers and pumpkins decorated with succulents.

It’s Pepper Palooza today at the Downingtown Farmers Market. Some of today’s flowers include ornamental peppers. Come on by and get some fresh local flowers and explore the offerings of over 30 vendors. The market is open until 1pm.

Tomato Fest today at the Downingtown Farmers Market 9am-1pm. It’s a gorgeous sunny day and in addition to getting some fresh local flowers there are more than 30 vendors featuring a wonderful array of local, spirits and crafts. Stop by and take a look!

Stock babies are growing under the lights!

Started 100’s of stock seeds today. Stock is an early spring flower with a wonderful spicy, clove like fragrance. It comes in a variety of beautiful colors including white, pink, pale yellow, lavender, ruby and my favorite, pictured below, apricot. Later in the season I will also be growing an unusual color called Vintage Brown. It’s a rosy color with definite brown undertones which will be a wonderful fall color.

I very excited about the spring and summer flower season. I’m especially looking forward to having ranunculus and anemones. It’s hard to image these shriveled little things that look like an octopus can turn into the most beautiful flowers. Stay tuned for updates!

One of the arrangements I did today for a local Airbnb. This was a fun project
