This Veterans Day, we honor all veterans for their unwavering dedication and sacrifice, with special recognition for the countless Chicano, Latino, and Hispano men and women who have shaped U.S. military history. From the American Revolution through today, Chicano, Latino, and Hispano service members, primarily of Mexican descent, have demonstrated valor and loyalty, serving in every major conflict. Their contributions are woven deeply into our nation’s defense legacy—from the Spanish-American War, where thousands of Hispano volunteers fought heroically, to Captain Maximiliano Luna, one of the Mexican American officers in the famed Rough Riders led by Colonel Theodore Roosevelt.

Today, we remember and celebrate their courage and profound impact on our nation. Thank you for your service.
