Flint Creek Courier The Flint Creek Courier is a free news service covering Granite County in Southwestern Montana. Welcome to the Flint Creek Courier! IT'S FREE!

It doesn't seem like journalists care much about actually reporting the news these days. They want to put their own spin on things, tell you the story the way they see it and generally bend the reader's eyes to their way of thinking. That just isn't the way it's done. Well, at least it's not the way it's supposed to be done. So, with that in mind, welcome to your Flint Creek Courier. Like a newspa

per, the Courier is an online news blog that will cover the general area of Granite County in a way that it has never been covered before. Instead of stories that take a week to get to your doorstep, you'll have them as soon as we are done crafting them. Pictures and graphics won't be mostly black and white, they'll be in full color. And sometimes, when we have the opportunity, we'll even include some video. Let's see your printed newspaper do that! But we'll also connect you with businesses that want your patronage, both local and from around the area. The Courier will help you know how to keep your dollars local so we grow a strong and vibrant economy. And when we don't have a local merchant offering a given item, we'll help you connect with the best place to find it. We're not going to lie, the Flint Creek Courier will start small. We'll focus on sports and local events, eventually including more news, features and other items as we go along. We'll expand as well, so you're getting all of the news that affects you. Finally, we'll toss in access to some national and world news, so you can stay as well informed as possible. And the best part about all of this? We'll bring you the news you're looking for and ask local merchants to connect with you, through us, by advertising. And you'll be able to see it in a variety of formats, from desktop to tablets to the phone right there in your hand. So we invite you to join us as part of the Flint Creek Courier family. Like us here on Facebook and make us one of your "First Read" items. Then head on over to our website and read all the news that's fit to digitally print! One final note...
The Flint Creek Courier reserves the right to police the accuracy and validity of all comments made to its stories and posts. Dear Families,

The Holiday season is here once again and preparation for Operation Santa is in the works. Each year staff volunteers at Philipsburg Schools and donors from the community work together to provide Christmas assistance for families with children who may need a little bit of extra help during the holiday season.

A bit about us if you are unfamiliar with Operation Santa. This program was started decades ago by a lady named Dolly Paige. Dolly believed every child deserves a gift under the tree on Christmas morning and collected gently used toys to repurpose. Dolly has been gone for several years now, in her honor and memory Philipsburg Schools has continued the tradition. In addition to a special gift, our mission is to try and provide each child with warm winter clothing, boots/shoes, hats/gloves, a stocking full of goodies, and for the family, a food basket for a complete holiday dinner.

For many of us hard working parents in Philipsburg, Christmas can be extremely stressful because the decision to keep the lights on or provide Christmas often needs to be made. Children don't understand that and is where Operation Santa comes in! If your family or someone you know might need a bit of assistance and like to participate, please follow this link
https://www.cognitoforms.com/PhilipsburgSchools/OperationSanta2023
or fill out and return the form sent home. If you did not receive it, let us know and we will get it to you ASAP.
We do ask for submissions to be in no later than December 5, 2023.

If anyone has questions please call Shannon in the High School at 859-3232 or email [email protected]

Thank you & Happy Holidays,
~Operation Santa

P.S. Operation Santa would not be possible if it wasn't for the generosity of our community. Anyone wishing to support Operation Santa by shopping for a child, the Giving Tree will be located at Huffman Grocery. Tags will contain information to assist in shopping for the perfect gifts.
Monetary donations are also welcome and appreciated, as we purchase any gifts, items for the food baskets, stockings, stuffers or other miscellaneous items that may still be needed.
