2014 Spring Update:

To avoid another bout of confusion, the HAZLETON PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY will NOT be hosting a two-week music camp session on the Ferrwood grounds this summer. There WILL BE, however, a music camp held this summer sponsored once again by the CEO Organization.

This page WILL remain as part of the Hazleton Philharmonic Society, IN THE EVENT that the Philharmonic organization wishes to host any type of summer camp or clinic on the Ferrwood grounds in the future.

This page will NOT be posting any announcements or updates about the CEO organization's summer camp.

If you are interested in attending their summer camp, please visit www.ferrwood.org. They have adopted the website from the Philharmonic due to the fact that the Philharmonic is not hosting any event at Ferrwood this summer or in the near future. Its purpose is better served housed under the CEO organization.

Asking questions, posting to this site, or messaging on this site pertaining to this year's camp at Ferrwood will not yield any answers. Please direct any questions to the CEO organization!

Campers and families interested in Ferrwood 2013, please read:

I have been questioned about the Hazleton Philharmonic's presence at Ferrwood Music Camp this summer. To clarify and clear up what seems to be an overwhelming response of confusion, my family and our 2012 staff have requested a one-year hiatus, approved several months ago by the Hazleton Philharmonic Board of Directors. There is a lease in place stating that, in our absence, the use of Ferrwood Music Camp reverts to the county to thus promote a music camp.

This 2013 summer, the CEO organization will be hosting their own music camp at Ferrwood, with a different team of individuals. I realize that the confusion stems from the fact that the term 'Ferrwood Music Camp' is being used interchangeably between two SEPARATE organizations, the Hazleton Philharmonic and the CEO organization.

Myself, my family and our team of counselors belong to the Hazleton Philharmonic. As such, we will NOT be present this summer to carry out the Hazleton Philharmonic's two-week summer music camp in July at Ferrwood because of a wedding. We do, however, intend to return in 2014 to resume OUR session of Ferrwood Music Camp that has occurred in July the past several years.

If you visit the CEO's music camp website at ceomusiccamp.org, you will notice the difference between the 2 organizations. The common thread is the use of the same building and property. The Hazleton Philharmonic's summer session at Ferrwood Music Camp is on a temporary, one-year hiatus. In its place, the CEO organization will be holding a music camp, quite similar to our own, at Ferrwood Music Camp during our leave of absence.

Those of you interested in music camp will have to direct calls and emails to those in direction of the CEO music camp, not to [email protected] or the Philharmonic office.

For those who have expressed serious concern that myself or my family has 'quit' or are 'no longer involved in Ferrwood', rest assured that NEITHER is the case. Should you continue to hear such rumors circulating, I urge you to correct any misinformation.

Our teams of counselors and staff hope to see you all again in 2014 since we cannot be with you this summer. Thank you for your continued support and I hope this quells some of the rumors! Have a safe and musical summer.

2012 campers: I pinky promise DVDs will be mailed out soon... hopefully within the next 2 weeks. Broke my elbow and fractured my foot, so that's where the delay came in. I'll hobble around and get them mailed as soon as possible.

Just a reminder: Parent/new camper information session for Saturday, June 16th 12-2pm was CANCELLED. Friday night, June 15th from 6-8 is still on if you'd like to visit. Cleanup on the 16th with be from 9-12.

Rather important update if you did not register during our Early Bird season but are still planning on registering for camp: REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE on Friday July 6th. We need the 24 hours to print files and inform counselors on attendance. It's not so great to have everything printed and ready and receive a last minute registration at 11:30pm before camp opens. If you're planning to register yet, you MUST do it before the registration CLOSES on July 6th. It will REOPEN on Wednesday, July 11th for those registering for the 2nd week. Don't forget or you can't register!

From the Ferrwood family and myself, I would like to note the passing of a friend who worked behind the scenes with me each year and seldom received the credit she deserved. If you purchased a camp t-shirt or hoodie within the past 5 years, your shirt was made by Debbi at Screen Print Plus who passed away this year. I was only recently made aware. Debbi, you answered too many of my frantic phone calls and accommodated too many late orders for me...you were a great friend to the Ferrwood team and will be greatly missed this year.
