- Sr. Helen Huewe Service Award to Duane Hagerty, who passed away on December 28, 2024. Accepting on his behalf, his sister, Gina.
- Outstanding Volunteer Award to Scott Kurt
- Outgoing board member to John Gronen
Each of these individuals have brought unique talent and deep dedication to the mission at Steeple Square, and it is appreciated.

The Steeple Square board of directors is deeply saddened by the loss of our board member, Duane Hagerty, CEO and president of Heritage Works Dubuque. With his passion and knowledge of historical preservation, Duane was instrumental in the saving and restoring of the former St. Mary's Church campus, so beautifully described in the article below. Some of our board members sharing their thoughts:

"Duane was a tremendous asset to the historical restoration, and he will be sorely missed." Judy Wolf, board president

"Duane was instrumental in securing funds at the beginning stages of Steeple Square. He was the number one advocate for historic restoration in our community and his knowledge immense. We were extremely blessed to have had his involvement in Steeple Square." Jack McCullough, board past-president

"Duane was a difference maker. I look at what Steeple Square is today versus what the former church campus may have been had Duane not reached out to convey the historical significance of the building. May he rest in peace." Rick Runde
