Make sure that you don't get caught off guard....Look, it's Minnesota, it's the North Shore, of course we want our ceremony outside! Right!? Right

That being said, do you have a contingency plan? A back up plan? A plan to turn to if Lake Superior decides to bless your wedding day with a little extra precipitation?

Here's some quick tips on what to do to prepare for an outdoor wedding if the weather ends up taking a turn:
Have umbrellas at the ready (clear umbrellas are a great vibey choice!
A buffer in time (meaning if you need to switch to moving indoors, you've got some built in time)
A second location at the venue (covered or indoors completely)
Inform the family and wedding party on what to do if we need to make changes to the timeline or locations
Don't let it get you down, weather happens, but it doesn't mean it needs to ruin your day. Stay positive and celebrate your love together.

“What do we do after our ceremony?”

That is a great question and one we get a lot. Here’s the simplest layout:

1. Grand March/Entrance: Start the party off right with announcing the reason everyone is there, YOU! If you’d like to mix it up, you could go straight into the first dance after your grand march!

2. Welcome Toast/Blessing: After your entrance, bless your meal/welcome your guests to kick off the dinner and the rest of the night! This could be your officiant, pastor, father, grandparent or whoever would like to say a few words.

3. Dinner Time!: It’s time to eat! After the long day, it’s important to enjoy your dinner for the long night of dancing ahead!

4. Cake Cutting: Sneak away after you’re done with your food (with your photographer!!!) for a sweet moment together as you cut into your wedding cake.

5. Speeches: Get ready for heartfelt speeches and toasts from family and friends, celebrating your love.

6. Couple’s Mingle Break: Take a short break to mingle with your guests, sharing laughter, thanks, and love.

7. Special Dances & Open Dance Floor: Go on the dance floor for your special dances, followed by an open invitation for everyone to join in dancing the night away!🥂

It all began with a mini-van, a mother-daughter team, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Nearly eight years later, Mariah McKechnie, Visionary & CEO, and a rock star team of event professionals have planned, designed, decorated, and executed thousands of weddings and special events across the region. A constant pursuit of excellence, professionalism and a positive attitude defines the corporate culture and client experience at NSE.

Why NSE? With wedding and event budgets ballooning, clients often doubt the merit of spending additional dollars on event planning & decor services. What they realize after meeting with NSE is that they can’t afford NOT to have us as part of their wedding team. We are there so that the couple, their families, and their friends can truly enjoy the event they have worked tirelessly to put together. We put out fires (sometimes literally) and solve wedding day dilemmas like it is our job - because that’s exactly what it is.....what other investment of this magnitude would a couple make without the guidance of a professional?
