We spread creativity, ingenuity, shenanigans and silliness through our annual convention where we are pleased to have the best in costumes, workshops, and panels on all things and her sister fandoms. First, since it is after all, we are delighted to give you a sneak peek at our menu for our "V-I-Tea": Afternoon Tea with our Author Guest of Honor, Gail Carriger. Gail Carriger writes books that are hugs, mostly comedies of manners mixed with steampunk, urban fantasy, and sci-fi (plus cozy q***r joy as G. L. Carriger). We hope you will come enjoy tea with us and learn more about the works of one of our favorite authors.

Just a few seats remain for this specialty afternoon tea service at CONpossible 2025 — "Travel Beyond the Veil" so don't hesitate to grab your tickets now! The Veil is starting to weaken, and in just 16 DAYS all of your friends will be gathering once again for a weekend of chance and folly for CONpossible 2025 — "Travel Beyond the Veil"!

IMPORTANT UPDATES:

• Our room block CLOSES on Thursday, Jan 23rd, so if you have not yet secured your rooms at our special convention rate this is your last chance to do so! The block already had to be extended once, so once these rooms are gone, they're gone for good.

**If you had to book outside the convention block due to an unavailability, you can send us a message to get yourself added for all the convention perks**

• Due to 2 cancelations, a VERY limited number of vendor booths have become available. If you would like to get your last minute applications in, please submit them via the link in the comments below. Our vendor coordinator will reach out to you with more details on what's available.

Our most beloved friends & family, with all that has happened over the last year we wanted to take a beat from our pre-show announcements, and share a deep breath with each and every one of you.

2024 was a challenging year. As we have entered 2025, there have been even more disappointments and heartbreaks, from natural disasters continuing to strike our communities, to people we looked up to letting us down. It can be a lot to process, and we – your friendly neighborhood allohistorians – want you to know we see you. Our community has always been so much more than just convention attendees; you are valued members of our little family, and all we do each year is try to build the best community space for every single one of you.

We know that this year’s show is going to feel a little different. We’ve lost friends this year, both to sickness and to relocating. Economic stress has gotten more intense, as has job insecurity, and many are still recovering from disasters in their areas. But on the flip side of that coin, our guests and volunteers have been hard at work building a cozy program of events, because we know now more than ever we need each other. We need a weekend getaway, where we can put all the troubles of the real world to one side and be with the people who get us and make us feel seen. If you are feeling burnt out, know you are not alone. Our community is woven from a rich tapestry of humanitarians, artists, teachers, and social workers, and we are all feeling it keenly. That is why we can’t wait to see you next month.

To that end, we have been asking groups and individuals to sponsor free memberships to this year’s CONpossible for individuals who were affected by Hurricane Helene, Milton, and other recent natural disasters, so that those who have been hit the hardest can still have a safe space at this year’s show. We have been so touched by the generosity so many of you have shown, and any individuals who would like to take advantage of this provision will be able to do so starting soon. Details will be posted to our website.

We know some of you may also be wondering if we intend to leave Facebook in the wake of their recent changes. The short answer is no, but we will continue to put more focus on building community spaces where people feel the most comfortable. Over the past year, we have reduced our Meta footprint as their privacy policies, AI policies, and so on have changed, because we value our artists’, guests’, and attendees’ privacy, and will continue to keep the lamps lit as the platform changes to ensure our members and their properties stay safe. We have built a community of more than 2.4 thousand followers, and many of our vendors, small businesses, and event runners still rely on Facebook to connect with each other. We know now, more than ever, it is important to keep those connections and community spaces strong. That having been said, for quite some time we have been building our community spaces on other social platforms (links in the comments), and invite you to follow us there or on your other preferred social platforms.

Above all else, we know the most powerful thing we can do is listen. We grow as an event and as a community from your feedback, and we can’t begin to tell you how much your words have meant to us over the past few months. This community is special to so many of you, and it is just as special to all of us behind the scenes. How can we support you? That is what we are always seeking to know. So please, keep sending us your messages. Tell us what we can do to make each event better than the last. Point us to where you want to build your community spaces. We will include links to where you can follow us in the comments.

Remember, you matter. We’ve seen a lot of people remark that it feels more and more like they are “shouting into the void” lately, but we see you, and we will continue to work just as hard alongside you to keep building welcoming community spaces for everyone. Don’t give up. We won’t.

We can’t wait to see you in February for another wacky weekend of friendship, shenanigans, and your favorite con escapades.

Under her well made belt, Leah brings a unique perspective on form and function in design. With a vast and varied resume, she knows a little about a lot of subjects, including metal work and glass. Steve started out in the renfaire world, and shifted to steampunk over a decade ago where he has interacted with humans of all walks of life. Beloved members of the community, both Steve and Leah have a lot to say on crafting, costuming, and how to be excellent to each other.

To Our Friends and Family Affected by the Recent Hurricanes,

The past 2 weeks have been challenging for so many of our staff and volunteers, beloved vendors, and most honored guests and attendees. While we are all making every effort to recuperate from the damage caused by Helene, we are now also dealing with the aftereffects of the fires at BioLabs in Conyers, Hurricane Milton, and other crises. We stand with our CONpossible family, near and far, as we come together in the wake of these terrible events.

We hope that our stalwart vendor community were spared any danger at in-person events, but we know some of you have brick and mortar businesses that may have suffered damage. We kindly ask you to let us know if you have been critically affected in any way, so that we can support you in whatever ways possible.

Our community has been our #1 priority since day one. During this difficult time, we are committed to supporting our CONpossible family to the best of our ability so that we all may return to Terminus Manor for the joyful and rich community experience we have all come to love and rely on for an escape from the mundane world. With that in mind, our CONpossible team is currently investigating which relief programs and charities we might collaborate with in order to help our beloved communities here in the Southeast, and we welcome insights on what those affected would find the most beneficial.

Thank you all for your patience as members of our team waited for their power and wifi to be turned back on. We know everyone has been eager for further updates on our website. Now that we have confirmed the safety and well-being of those hit the hardest, we will be picking up right where we left off and posting delayed updates within the next few days.

The Venusian Masked Ball @ CONpossible 2024

Have you started pinning, primping, and steaming your finery for the Venusian Masked Ball? We've enjoyed seeing what our newsletter, blog, and community members have been teasing, and we can't wait to see what YOU will be wearing to CONpossible 2024 — "The Jungles of Venus"! Our Venusian Masquerade Ball (see what we did there?) will be held on Friday, Feb 16th, 2024 starting at 7pm EST with special performances by Atlanta Historic Dance! The night will begin with a choreographed number by members of Atlanta Historic Dance, and continue with the promenade, a series of reels, and circle dances geared towards beginning level dancers. If you have always wanted to learn traditional historic dance, this will be your finest opportunity! Intermediate level dancing will follow for those who are interested, and the festivities will linger long into the night with a special late-night dance immediately following the ball. We will also be hosting a Costume Contest for the Best Masquerade Costume to mark the transition between the formal ball and open dancing. This is an all ages and all experience levels event, so dust off those top hats, buff your dancing shoes, and join us for the inaugural night of CONpossible 2024!
