Dear WNL Fans,

After careful consideration and discussions among the Universe band members, they have made the difficult decision to cancel their Wednesday Night Live concert this Wednesday, June 19, due to concerns about the extreme heat. Your safety and well-being are everyone’s top priority.

The band has the support of City Manager Cameron Horvath and the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) in this decision.

But don't worry! They’ve rescheduled the concert for Wednesday, August 21, and can't wait to see you all then.

🎶 We always know it’s going to be a great concert when Square Lucy is on stage and they didn’t disappoint! Guys, you know how to rock! What a night! 🎸

🌟 **Wednesday Night Live is Back!** 🌟

Have you seen the weather report? Wednesday is gonna be the perfect night to welcome Square Lucy back to the WNL stage! Shoutout to Harvest Mills for sponsoring one of the most popular bands in the area!

A special treat at this week’s concert. The Durand Church of the Nazarene will be handing out free popsicles and water. Check them out in the vendor area.

**New Venue for Better Sound:** The stage will be in the middle of Saginaw St., near Durand Chamber of Commerce, facing north for a better sound experience.

**Meet Our MC:** Durand’s own Bruce Benson will be introducing the bands and making announcements. Thanks, Bruce.

**Happenings:**
- **50/50 Drawing:** Weekly drawings with proceeds going to the WNL fund.

🎉 A big thank you to Montana Spaulding and Gwendolyn Bell, Durand Area High School students, for their amazing work in creating a T-shirt display rack for the Durand DDA and Greater Durand Area Chamber of Commerce! The ladies are students in the woodshop class led by Bruce Spaulding. 🛠️

The T-shirt display currently holds WNL T-shirts, which are a fundraiser for the WNL fund. Proceeds go to support future events, so grab a shirt and show your support! 👕

Shoutout to students Atlanta Pollok, Juliana Follo, Travis McDonald, and Tyler Smithigell, along with Bruce Spaulding, for recently delivering the rack to the Chamber of Commerce. 🚛

Hey, music lovers!

We have some unfortunate news: the Glo-The Party Band concert scheduled for June 5 in downtown Durand, has been canceled due to predicted rain and possible storms. Your safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding.

But here's the good news! The week of June 26 is going to be a two-fer week!

**🎸 Wednesday, June 26:** Shiatown will be shaking the downtown with their hard-hitting modern country vibes.

**🎉 Thursday, June 27:** Glo-The Party Band will bring their concert-style sound to Durand !

🌧️ We are keeping a close eye on the weather forecast for Wednesday in relation to the concert by Glo-the Party Band, sponsored by Graff Chevrolet Durand. Right now, it isn’t looking 👀 good.

The plan, approved tonight by the Durand City Council, is to hold any make up concerts the following Thursday. This is contingent on the band’s availability.

🎉 Wow, what an unforgettable kickoff to our first 2024 Wednesday Night Live featuring Rodeo Drive! Tonight concert was sponsored by Durand Rotary Club, Ed's Standard Service, and PFCU. Despite the cool weather, and a few opening night hiccups, the music had everyone dancing in the street.

The T-shirt gun was a massive hit, especially with Mark Pancheck hyping up the crowd – he even launched a shirt onto a roof! 😂 Thank you Southside Market, Greater Durand Area Chamber of Commerce, and WNL for providing the “ammunition” ..lol.

A huge shoutout to everyone who bought a T-shirt or took a chance on the 50/50 raffle. Congrats to Tom Manke for winning $95! All proceeds go directly to the WNL fund, making these epic events possible. Just a reminder, our concerts are entirely funded by our amazing sponsors and your support through T-shirt and 50/50 sales – no city money is used for Wednesday Night Live.

**Wednesday Night Live is Back!**

In just two days, Rodeo Drive, sponsored Ed’s Standard Service, Durand Rotary Club and PFCU (Durand), will kick off the 2024 Wednesday Night Live concert series.

**New Venue for Better Sound:**
As requested by several bands, the stage will be at the intersection of Main Street and Saginaw. The band will face north. This will give concertgoers a better sound experience.

**Meet Our MC:**
Durand’s own Bruce Benson will be the official MC, introducing the bands and making announcements. Thanks, Bruce!

**Weather Advisory:**
The weather forecast predicts a cool evening, so bring a hoodie or a jacket. Remember, cold weather has never stopped us from attending a great concert!

**Weather-Related Cancellations:**
The City of Durand decides if concerts are canceled due to inclement weather. We will post updates on this page and several others.

**New Happenings:**

- **50/50 Drawing:** Each week, volunteers will conduct a 50/50 drawing. All proceeds go to the WNL fund through the Durand Downtown Development Authority.
- **T-Shirt Gun:** A generous donor has provided a t-shirt gun! We’ll be shooting t-shirts, donated by local businesses, into the crowd. Remember, no exchanges for different sizes.

🎉 Attention concert goers! 🎶We're just over a month away from the Wednesday Night Live summer concerts, and we've got some important info to share regarding coolers. We've received several inquiries about whether coolers are allowed at the venue, so here's the scoop:As in the past, no coolers containing alcoholic beverages are allowed into the event. If you're planning to enjoy a drink, please purchase it from one of the four fantastic establishments on the 100 Block of North Saginaw St. 🍻If any coolers are found to contain alcoholic beverages, you'll kindly be asked to take them back to your vehicle. Let's all respect the rules and enjoy the privilege of purchasing locally while soaking up the tunes. Let's keep the vibe positive and not spoil it for others. Thank you for your cooperation! 🙌

We have already received many texts and messages asking that we get the band on the schedule for next year. If they are willing, we are willing.

The rules that allow us to continue to host WNL downtown:

Dogs are allowed but they must be on a leash. You must clean up after your dog.

The last concert of 2023 is this Wednesday!

Good Morning. It’s four more sleeps until Friday! And even more joyous, for most of us, it’s a long weekend!

It is going to be a busy week at the “Wednesdays In Durand” office. “We are preparing for the 34th Annual End of Summer Cruisin’. “ We welcome volunteers!

Wednesday is our final concert of the season with
Glo - The Party Band . It’s gonna be a fun one!

Wednesday Night Live will have the usual vendors and car show, plus a few surprises! Come out and help us celebrate a great season of wonderful music.

It’s gonna be in the sixties on Wednesday , we suggest a jacket, or you can purchase a fine, warm hoodie from the Chamber. Thanks to Shaw's Pharmacy & Gifts , we have the newest Durand hoodies and Tees. Watch for a photo to be added this morning! They will go fast, so keep watch for the photo.

While it doesn’t happen on Wednesday, the “End of Summer Cruisin” is Saturday, September 2nd. The town will play host to over 1,000 visitors. If you have a second, let’s make our property and downtown look the best!

A new ordinance has gone in to effect this week, dogs 🐶 are welcome at the concert. We will expect you to clean up after your 🐩 dog. You must, by state law, have your dog 🐕 on a leash. If there is a mishap with your dog 🐶 , you alone are responsible .

Ok, let’s get out there and make it an excellent week!

The weather was perfect and so was the entertainment. Thank you to Foxdriver for a great evening of good music! It was great to welcome back Foxdriver band member and DHS class of 1976 grad, Bob Morrow.

It was so great to see so many faces at WNL. People were dancing , laughing and really enjoying themselves. That is what WNL is all about.

Thank you to Bart Harris - State Farm Agent, Durand Rotary Club, and Carlson Family Dental for sponsoring tonight’s concert. Without the WNL sponsors, the concerts would not continue, be sure to support the WNL sponsors.

In two weeks, Glo - The Party Band will close out the 2023 WNL season. Be sure to attend.

Are you ready for the return of Wednesday Night Live?

Tomorrow night, Foxdriver takes the stage.
A combination of rock and country music with something for everyone. The band hails from Genessee County and has a great following. It will be good evening of great music.

Sponsors for this week are Durand Rotary Club , Bart Harris - State Farm Agent and Carlson Family Dental -Dr Jason Carlson.

It has been a few weeks, so a few reminders:

The Durand Rotary Club is selling popcorn, pop, and water. They are set up near the Greater Durand Area Chamber of Commerce office.
At 5:pm,
The vendors will be doing readings, selling delicious baked goods, and more.
Be sure to support them.

The car show begins at 5:00 and is averaging about 45-50 cars. Stop down and say hello.

And the rules:

No coolers with alcoholic beverages are allowed. The City of Durand has generously allowed WNL to be downtown. The rule is adult beverages must be purchased from local restaurants and the Moose. None may be brought in.

No animals, bikes, or skateboards. This is due to city ordinances.
And..
The restaurants and Moose Hall are seeing tremendous crowds. Please be patient with the servers.

No alcoholic drinks beyond the barricades.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about WNL make up concerts and the Food Truck Fest. Let's set the record straight.

Originally, WNL was scheduled to end on July 26. Due to rain, three concerts were cancelled. We spoke with the bands and scheduled make up concerts on August 2, August 16, and August 30. The first was held last night.

The City and many many residents asked about a food truck event. The dates of August 9 and 23 were chosen because there were no concerts scheduled on those evenings.

The Food Truck Fest is not a WNL production. WNL coordinators have been adamant that no food trucks be at WNL, except Union Station Smokehouse. WNL has held true to that premise. WNL was brought downtown to benefit the businesses, and it has.

The Food Truck Rally was planned to highlight the businesses on West Main, including Main Street Rocks, Changes and the Our 206 Bar. It will also highlight the buildings up for sale and the future businesses that are coming.

Again, there is no concerts on August 9 and 23.

Well, that Group Therapy session went great! The music was spectacular. The Fleetwood Mac set incredible! Bonus-the weather was perfect ..finally!

Next week, we gather on West Main! Matt Harwood will be DJ’ing. There will a variety of food trucks, cold drinks vendors and more. The city will have tables and trash receptacles in place. The event is being sponsored by the City of Durand.

Wednesday Night Live on Saginaw Street returns August 16 with a performance by Foxdriver.
