Natural beauty. We're always inspired by nature, by our clients, and many other things. Fresh and dried elements were used to create the ceremony and tablescapes for this very chic couple. She wrote me the sweetest email and I wish them all the best as they start a new chapter as a couple. Just before the wedding, they moved from L.A. to N.Y.C. ! Life is good! Love you guys J&B. I hope everyone is safe in N.C. and that all of our friends in S.C. are safe and drying out a bit. I'm up north finally, taking a restful break and spending time with family. The storm is heading our way but won't be nearly as bad.
The shop was closed yesterday , so everyone was safe at home, but we are back in action today and tomorrow!

Our August SALE is in full swing with 25% off everything except flowers, plants and herbs. Come on by!

After all the color of the last few weeks, my eyes appreciate the simplicity of a more tonal color palette. 🥰💚🤍💚🤍
The design is anything but simplistic, though. We used a variety of plant material mixed with marble, pottery, and ceramics to create a playful but sophisticated design! We were lucky enough, during our downtime in July, to be part of 2 very creative styled shoots/open houses. We are leaning into new designs, fresh looks, and expanding our hard goods selection. Classically colorful! G and C were married last weekend and surrounded by lots of loving family and friends. It was a celebration 3 years in the making. I am so proud of the Bowerbird Team and the results. Thanks to all of the wonderful wedding professionals who contributed to making this day come to life !

Dining outdoors is so romantic, especially for an intimate sized wedding. Our bride , C, was amazing to work with. Every detail was important and considered. She wanted her guests to feel special and taken care of. With a table this beautiful how could you not?

A good day for sure! Tablescapes are Bowerbird's love language. We love guiding our clients through the design process and coming up with unique, design forward ideas. Color, texture and light are all important elements that we can play with. And yes, food does have a place at the table other then just being on your plate!

Holiday weekend, holiday mood! We had a lovely wedding and this is one from just last weekend! The theme for our Spring and early summer season has definitely been one of color. We have LOVED every minute of it. took these gorgeous shots that show all of the love from last Sunday!

Today, we are cleaning, prepping for a wedding, and prepping the shop to be closed for the week! Summer break is on!!! Except that we do have a lovely wedding Friday, so we'll be in and out.

Meet the team! They have been incredible this weekend and covered the shop and the weddings.
I lost an uncle, my Dad's brother, late the week before last. Lily and I traveled to Ohio, where I grew up, to be with family and lay him to rest. It has been a lot! Emotionally, being back where I grew up for such a sad occasion was bittersweet.
I wouldn't have been able to go without the support of these incredibly talented and kind people. Big hugs and immense gratitude for good people!!!!

We had an intimate wedding on a Monday! I think this is the only Monday wedding we've ever done. Think outside the box when planning your wedding so that the guests have an amazing experience, and the celebration reflects who you are!

Only magical summer weddings are in the design lineup for this seasons nuptials . (Per usual!😉)
Two weeks ago, we had the honor of making Bianca and Ted's vision for a lilac, Bridgerton inspired dream come to life! We worked with on every floral detail, and our couple was over the moon with the end results!

Blue and white, but make it elegant and interesting!
We used a wide variety of vessels to play with neutral tones and textures against the main character here, classic blue and white. Glass wicker wrapped vases, smooth white ceramics, and woven baskets kept things unfussy but still elegant and really showed off the hydrangea and textural white flowers we chose! Don't be afraid to do something different! It pays off when you walk in the room and see the whole thing come together!

Are you ready for tomorrow? We are! We have worked with Emily and her team many times over the past few years, and we love the results every time. When you hire a great team, magic happens!

Tomorrow will be wonderful!
The shop will closed until noon tomorrow because we have a large wedding in Durham !
We are also having a 10th anniversary special! I'll be posting that later. Oh yea, we are 10 years old! I cannot believe it.

Another successful wedding weekend! Yesterday was beautiful, and today was amazing! Loved the color palettes and all of the gorgeous details. We paired a mix of local and imported flowers with dried elements and textural ceramics for an elegant yet unfussy feel. More of this my NC couples!

A year ago.... almost. A year isn't so long, but everything is different. This is where my mind goes now. A year ago, I was so busy doing all the things, but Mikey was still here. And we didn't know about the cancer growing inside him yet. We had no idea what was coming, and I certainly couldn't imagine he would be gone in a year. This past week was particularly difficult. I think as spring turns into summer, it's another first. Our first summer without him. All the joyful summer things we always did together are wonderful memories that are too sad to think about. Grief needs a witness, and this journey is universal, I do know that. And so I share my sadness and my joy with all of you as I navigate this first year. I know I'll be doing all the summer things soon, and I will relish all of them. I'm alive, and I'm still here and, dear reader, so are you. Let's find some joy!

Well, I didn't post a single story from today. Epic IG fail! But the team and I were super busy making wedding dreams come true. We have a few more very busy weeks before we slide into Summer. We've had lots of new arrivals at the shop along with a ton of new plants, new plantings outside the shop, and headway on our new website. Maybe this week I'll have time to share more!
