Sooo... We just bought a house and are in the process of moving in. Yesterday, the security system was installed. Today, the HVAC system is being installed. New appliances are coming next week. There are a million other things to do! The house was built in the 50s. It's been marginally updated and it's solid as a rock. But it still has aesthetic changes to be made (or replaced - dark beige exterior & interior walls - ick). It's the perfect house for me and the girls because it's not totally finished cosmetically. So many old homes are being renovated and updated with nice but generic cosmetics. But with this one, we get to do new lighting, new faucets, new cabinet doors, etc. Nothing wrong with the ones we have, we just aren't living in the 90s anymore. Tehee

I also placed the order for my studio. It'll be delivered and set up in January. I had a public studio for over a decade and regret many of those years and wasted money. My home studio is going to be beautiful and cozy. I'll invite brides here if they'd like to meet in person. All my inventory will be here so we can play with tablescape options. There will be plenty of room for freelancers to help.

It's all very exciting. And there are MORE changes on the way. My life is ever evolving. I can't stay in one place for very long, never have. So stay tuned! XO

P.S. This was for a cute couple named Yolanda & Alex. (They were married on 2/22/22- see what they did there? Haha) They used one of my fave earthenware collections and let me play with preserved botanicals. They were married at one of my fave venues - . A li'l classicism for your feed. Quanetra was the sweetest bride. I loved doing her floral design and basking in her happiness. It always makes me smile the rest of my week.

This wedding has a backstory for me. This was in 2021 when weddings were stacked every single week of the year. This was in October the busiest time of the year any year here in NC. Blush flowers were a high commodity. I couldn't get quicksand roses for 3 months! And let's not get started on the floral tape and glue we rely on that could be found nowhere. It was Wednesday and her wedding was Saturday. I had searched for blush flowers for weeks without success. I even tried Trader Joe's and Harris Teeter that week! I knew one of my suppliers got a delivery early Thursday mornings every week. So I got up before the sun rose and drove an hour there. I totally hijacked the blush roses and took. all. of. them. The buyer came to tell me they were for the following week and I couldn't have them. I responded, "No, they're for me this week." I said it nicely but I would've attached myself to the cooler door in protest if they didn't let me have them. I got 'em. LOL

When I look at this bouquet I start singing Free Bird. For Jenna who had to reschedule her wedding in Durham which originally was to be held in Asheville. So happy to help but still heartbroken over the storm.

2 weekends ago, we had a wedding 1.5 hours away. It was too far to drive back home only to drive back for breakdown. My oldest daughter, my best employee ever, and I decided to get mani/pedis while we waited. We were too tired from the setup to do much of anything else. My hands and fingernails were stained from handling so many blooms, so I only wanted a pedicure. The guy doing my toes kept offering to do my hands. He simply couldn't understand that they'd be stained again in a couple of days. Finally he said he wanted to clean them only. LOL The ppl in the flower industry are the only ones who understand why we're ok walking around with stained fingernails.
