Where to Propose on New Year's in Buffalo:

As 2025 approaches, romantics across the city are planning the most important New Year's resolution of their (and their partners'!) lives. No matter how you intend to pop the question, whether you want a grand public gesture or a cozier, more intimate scene, Buffalo has the perfect place to make this moment unforgettable. Here are a few of our favorites:

1. Ice at Canalside. We can think of no better way to end an ice skating date than taking your partner aside at the rink's edge, getting on one (admittedly chilly) knee, and popping the question. Maybe practice once or twice while they're not looking so you don't fall over at the key moment!

2. Botanical Gardens. A little obvious, we know, but it's a classic for a reason. Lush year round and featuring an extraordinary "Poinsettias after Dark" exhibit until the 30th, it's a lovely respite from the snow that still celebrates the holiday season. They have reduced hours New Year's Eve, but there's nothing wrong with surprising your partner a day early, is there?

3. City Hall Observation Deck. If you live in WNY and you haven't been yet, you're missing out. You can see the entire city skyline all the way out to Niagara Falls on a clearer day. It's free, open to public, and provides an excellent opportunity for escape and intimacy. Plus the lobby and stairway platforms offer great photo opps.
