Echoes of MMUP 2024 - Here we are at the time of the winter solstice, thinking about Summer Soulstice. Can you think of a better name for a musical group who is performing on June 21st? This duo brought their talent to Java and Friends and Sumneytown Hotel.

Echoes of MMUP 2024 – Diane Tipping – strumming the harp in the historic setting of the Sumneytown Hotel makes for a picturesque scene and a melodic lunch. It seems appropriate that such a beautiful looking instrument would also make a beautiful sound. Of course, you have to know what you are doing when you sit with that instrument. Diane does!

Echoes of MMUP 2024 – Art Edwards does double duty at MMUP, handling sound for other musicians and then changing hats and becoming one of the performers. Art has a long history of performing out and about in various groups, but his duo with Jeff Schmidt on bass was fun to hear!

Echoes of MMUP 2024 – Indian Valley Dulcimers - Here’s another group that heads from their valley to ours to share their talent, through the dulcet sounds of their dulcimers. It is pleasing to the ears to hear their ensemble! And those instruments don't look easy to play!

Valley Choral Society concerts are this weekend. Saturday, December 14 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church - Pennsburg, PA and Sunday, December 15 at Trinity Lutheran in Perkasie. Fabulous choral music in our backyard!

ABOUT THE ARTIST 🎶

Steve writes songs about life in the Lehigh Valley and beyond, and he has hosted a monthly Songwriters Workshop at Godfrey Daniels, Bethlehem, PA, for several years. Steve’s goal is to create a shared uplifting musical experience with the audience, and make them smile, laugh, and tap their toes. Steve Walker has been featured at venues as diverse as the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Berks Jazz Fest, and the Pennsylvania State Capitol. Steve has shared the stage with such noted performers as Tom Rush, Vassar Clements, Steve Kimock, Dark Star Orchestra, and the McCoy Tyner Trio. Steve and Born Cross-Eyed, the popular dance jam band of which he is a founding member, have won a large and loyal following throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania. Steve Walker is the featured Harmonica player on the nationally released CD “Relix 20th Anniversary Concert,” a live recording at the Wetlands in NYC, jamming with former Grateful Dead keyboardist Tom Constanten and David Nelson of the New Riders of the Purple Sage. Steve’s Mandolin playing has won Best String Instrumentalist twice at the Lehigh Valley Music Awards and he was a finalist at the Lehigh Valley Acoustic Performance Contest. He received the Founders Award at the 2011 LV Awards Ceremony at the Musikfest Cafe for his continuing support and contributions to the Lehigh Valley music scene.

Echoes of MMUP 2024 – Fun is the flavor of Razzberry Tea , with notes of dedication to their craft, and palate-pleasing crowd favorites. They serve up their tunes all over the area, but we are certainly glad for their MMUP stop on June 21.

Echoes of MMUP 2024 – With mesmerizing vocals,and talented fretwork Pete Gustavsen is fun to listen to. If you didn’t get a chance to hear him this past year, we can cross our fingers that he will be back again in June! He closed out the evening at Mario's this past year, much to the delight of audience.

Echoes of MMUP 2024 – Jim Moore brings his guitar and makes the trek from Norristown because he loves this event! And we love that! Not only does he sing and play for our audiences, he becomes audience and encourages other musicians. And has been known to run into old friends in the process. Community. It’s one of the best things about MMUP! Thanks, Jim!

Expressions Sax Quartet brings together talented sax players for their fun arrangements, seen here at Pennsburg UCC. They are even dressed 'fun'!

Echoes of MMUP 2024 – 97 Camry – a new name for some returning musicians who assemble and reassemble in different configurations. MMUP loves to give a stage to the local talent who put their chops together for a great show.
