Thanks to all who were part of the 39th Annual Women in the Arts Festival. Our celebration of creativity and community wouldn’t be the same without each of you: shoppers, diners, concertgoers, performers, dauberers, bingo callers, artists, cooks, servers, advertisers, donors, bidders, and more. You all made it a warm and welcoming place.

Shout out to the dedicated volunteers whose cheerful refrain was “what else can I do? How can I help?” You’re the best.

New to Women in the Arts Festival, it's L***o Bingo! Join us at 4 pm on Saturday, at the conclusion of the WITA 2024 Day Stage. Come for the comedy and the cat sculpture prize you never knew you needed. Stay for the bad puns and the joy of good old fashioned game play with a great community. We will be joined by a celebrity caller who, when asked to call, declared "I am Willing" and, more importantly, "I Ain't Afraid." Like most* events at Women in the Arts, bingo is free. We will not be checking le***an credentials for bingo entry, but a good sense of humor is required. Let's have some fun!

Pro tip: Cash is queen this weekend at Women in the Arts Festival. While many artists in the WITA Artist's Market have the capacity to accept electronic payments/cards, the wifi and cell signal is notoriously unpredictable at Edgewood United Church, UCC... Please stop at an ATM before you come to shop and/or bring checks.

Artist Spotlight! Welcome to Women in the Arts Festival, Kelly Boyle! Kelly notes: My bold, colorful screenprints are created the old-fashioned way with hand-cut paper stencils. My annual flower calendar is now in its 33rd year of production – the blooms in my garden and seen on travels are a never-ending source of inspiration!

Artist Spotlight: Welcome to Women in the Arts Festival Mechele Peters of Isobel & Ernest Handmade Goods. Mechele notes: A passion for textiles, the natural world and body positivity inspires my work of wearable art and homegoods. My work includes hand-dying, up-cycling vintage fabrics and designing fabric from my original photography. I support my passion for body positivity by curating my line of clothing for all shapes and sizes – S to 3XX.

Artist Spotlight! Welcome Women in the Arts Festival newcomer JoEllyn Roe. Ms. Roe is a retired East Lansing, Mich., art teacher and has been taking classes for more than 15 years.
