In July Sarah and Guillaume reached out about their wedding that was happening in just a few short weeks. While the two have been together for many years, and have been engaged for quite a while, the time for a wedding had never been quite right. Like a lot of couples, COVID 19 impacted their planning. Add the fact that Sarah is a CT native but has been living in France with Guillaume, setting a wedding date was a bit of a challenge.

But the time had FINALLY come. Sarah and Guillaume, along with family and friends from the States and France, dodged rain and celebrated their love with a beautiful French-American wedding at the lovely Riverhouse at Goodspeed station. This venue is near and dear to me as this is where my husband and I got married 13 years ago, and it was such a special experience to photograph a wedding here.

Despite the threat of rain and a language barrier at times, everyone had a wonderful time celebrating this love. Guillaume's father was especially happy to banter and joke with "the American photographer" teasing me for taking so many photos, that at one point he insisted on taking a photo with me! The day and evening sped by in a blur of family, friends, love, laughter, eating, drinking, and dancing and before long (and WAY before the celebration was due to end)it was time for me to say goodnight.

Well, if this isn't the cutest way to wrap up June- I don't know what is. I had so much fun capturing all the spunky love between these two sweet kiddos and I loved showing Emery and Ophelia one of my most favorite spots. We looked for fish and turtles, ran through the towering trees, and had an epic pine needle fight. It was so much fun (and apparently exhausting...just look at the last photo!)

To say that documenting Amber and Gus's wedding day was the absolute best way to start wedding season is an understatement.

While both still quite young, Amber and Gus set an example for many of what love and commitment is. The "for better or worse" kind of love, the "take on more than their friar share" kind of love. The "meet life's grief and turn it into joy" kind of love. The "I can't do this on my own, but with you I can do anything" kind of love.

They are a true match. They are a true team. They are true love.

And I know that with the strong and loving family and friends surrounding and supporting them, they will have a union filled with hope, joy, and love.

This one...This engagment session was a VERY specail one. Not just becuase it finally happened (after multiple postponements due to weather and illness), and not just because Amber and Gus make the a stunning couple, and not just because their chemisty and synchonicity is 100%❤️‍🔥 But mostly becuase I have known Gus since he was my son's age (if not younger?) and I have watched him grow into a wonderful and gentle souled young man and I can not be happier that he has met his beautiful Amber.

And speaking of Amber- while I have only met Amber at a few of their family parties, I can see that she is a true gem- a specail soul in this word. Furthermore, it is clear to me that she and Gus are a complete match.

Both Amber and Gus have experienced more than their fair share of life's heartache and hardships, but both have grown and risen from those hard times, becoming the strong and beautiful people they are today. I wish them all the love and can't wait to celebrate with them next year

Ugh, my heart! Look at this beautiful family...I just can't get enough!

Julie and Kevin mentioned how this was the FIRST professional photography session their family has ever had (ummm, yea- we are talking about you COVID🙄) and that they were a bit nervous about how this whole thing would go: Did their outfits coordinate enough? Not too much? Would their two beautiful boys cooperate? Would PJ sit long enough for any family photo? Would Cal smile at all? Would there be enough time?? Would the wind mess up their hair? Was there poison ivy around that tree we were all just touching? Would we get "the perfect shot"???

So, let's be real for a moment...kids (and families in general) are the most WONDERFUL things and and the most DIFFICULT things and ALLLL and the in between things, and that's what I love capturing the most: All the REAL moments, that while in the present might be nerve wracking or stressful, and certainly not "perfect", but these are the images that I have found to be THE most beautiful and authentic and the ones that I LOVE sharing the most. Editing lifestyle sessions always remind me of how important photography is and how necessary it is to capture your family or your life as it is RIGHT NOW just as it is, because they will never be this way ever again

(P.S. yes... 99% of the time we "get the perfect Christmas Card / hang on the living room wall shot")

On a spectacular October day, as the warm sun set and the harvest moon rose, Jess and Josh were married surrounded by the love, joyful tears, and laughter of their family and friends.

I have known Jess for a few years now, and I can honestly say that she is on my "short list" of humble, easy going, caring, and genuine humans... But then- I met Josh and I had to add him to that list as well!😊

It is no wonder that these two are the perfect match, and I don't think you need to know them long to see that (I mean just LOOK at the way they look each other with their loving gazes). Congratulations to these two beautiful people and thank you for having .ct capture your beautiful day.

Congratulations to Melissa and Shane! I just love Melissa and Shane's story. You see, these two dated many moons ago, but although there was the chemistry and the love, it just didn't work out at that time. Fast forward through the years, previous marriages, children, ups and downs, and a lot of growing into the people they are today, the universe brought them back together, and as Paul Harvey use to say: "now you know the rest of the story."

Last week, on a hot and steamy day in Saratoga Springs NY (with Cheap Trick and Rod Stewart playing in the background 1/4 of a mile down the road) my good friends Maegan and Jason got married!

It was an absolute honor, and pure joy to capture and document the love exuding from both them as they celebrated the union of their love.

I mean COME ON!!!
Just look at the way these two look at each other. It is a true picture of what falling in love with your best friend really looks like, and to say that I cried a couple times might be an understatement...

(It is also an understatement that choosing only 10 images for their Social medial Sneak Peek was difficult... )

Long story short- I am over the moon that they found each other...Even if it meant that Maegan was a day late meeting us in Maine due to their first date (6AM breakfast BTW) So, good job Jason! You impressed us even before we met you and most importantly, you make Maegen deliriously happy! Welcome to the family 😉

We had THE most perfect, magically delicious summer evening last night for Lindsey and Ajay's engagement session. And, I mean...how stinking cute are they? The 100% earned bonus points for understanding the assignment and bringing ALL. THE. HEAT (and for following directions, even crazy ones such as, "KK, now run full speed into the water 🌊😅) We can't wait to see them again later this summer for the big "I do".

Last week friends and family came out to celebrate the retirement of Dr. Walter Diaz who served as the vice president of student affairs at Eastern Connecticut State University. This event also served as a fundraising gala for the Dr. Walter and Maritza Diaz Scholarship Fund. This fund was created by Mrs. & Dr. Diaz as a way to carry on their legacy of supporting ECSU students in need long after retirement.

Over the last several months, I had spoken with Walter and a few others in preparation for the party. I learned about some of the amazing ways he had helped students at ESCU over the years, and yet- I was not prepared.

Throughout the evening, I was blown away by how many current and former students, colleagues, friends, and family came out to celebrate, to give tribute, and to share stories of the life-long impact that Dr. Walter and Mrs. Maritza Diaz had on their lives. (I might have teared up juuuuussssstttt a few times)

As a lifestyle photographer, it was certainly an honor to document this amazing night so it can be relieved again and again.
