Meet the Gardners

Rodeo has always been a significant part of our lives, and we are excited to bring all of the Southeastern Youth Rodeo Association rodeo family into our family. SEYRA
has a special place in our hearts. It is where the boys won their first buckles and saddles. It is where they refined their roping skills. It is where they developed their love/hate relationship with boysā€™ goat tying.

Cody, our oldest son, is a member of AHSRA, NLBRA, and PCA, where he calf ropes, team ropes, and steer wrestles. Cooper, our youngest, is a member of AJRA, an NLBRA, where he competes in boys' breakaway, team roping, and chute do***ng. Darrin loves to team rope and calf rope when the boys arenā€™t taking his horses to ride. Angela is the epitome of a rodeo mom, keeping up with all the boys and ensuring everyone is where they are supposed to be and ready to ride. Rodeo is a family affair in the Gardner house. Everyone pitches in to help as we have held various executive board positions, as well as points secretary, timer, and treasurer. We arenā€™t strangers to the dirt as Darrin judges, bullfights, and directs arena activities & livestock.

We are excited to continue the Southeastern Youth Rodeo Association legacy started by the Ellis family. They have done a phenomenal job growing the association, and we are honored to have the opportunity to expand youth rodeo in South Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.

In the next few weeks, please be on the lookout for the ballot sheet for the board of directors and arena director positions, the 2025 schedule, the suggestion page link, and an updated 2025 membership packet. We look forward to getting to know everyone we have not already met. Please reach out to us for any questions or concerns.

We rodeo as a family, and we want you to also. Rodeo family is like no other, and the bonds built lead to a lifetime of friendships. From our family to yours, ā€œLets Rodeo!ā€

Please bring generators and portable pens as we are limited to actual hook up sites and numbers of stalls available. We have 15 stalls currently under roof. If you have other fur family members, please bring leashes and/or tie out lines.
We have 15-ish acres cleared for horse trailers and campers alike. You do not have to be a member of the horse community if you need a place to stay.
