Please, we beg you, have an unplugged ceremony! Phone wielding guests don’t mean to be rude, they’re just trying to remember a special day. And as a photography company, nobody understands the impulse to reach for a camera during important moments more than us. But we’ve had guests jump into the aisle as brides walk down the aisle or stand up in front of us during the kiss. While we’re usually able to react, we’ve had enough photos killed by overzealous guests to ask that couples consider an “unplugged” ceremony. How do you let your guests know you are having an Unplugged Ceremony? Add it to your wedding website, write it in your programs, post a sign outside the ceremony space and ask your officiant to make an announcement before the ceremony begins. If you are a guest at an unplugged ceremony and are wondering what that looks like, simply keep your phone and personal camera in your bag and enjoy the moment! If you are a guest at a ceremony that is NOT unplugged, we encourage you to do the same… we highly encourage unplugging during all ceremonies! However, if you absolutely must snap a photo on your phone, all we ask is that you stay in your seat and avoid sticking your arm or body out into the aisle.
