I had fun making this little gem of a mini pumpkin. For days I have been wanting to do this and thinking about everything I wanted to put in it. I have been obsessed with this dusty blue, rusty orange, dark burgundy and peach color combo for fall. These BluOcean Chrysanthemums are brand new from @suntoryflowers.na and they are filling a void for me that I never knew existed. I have the BEST sales person ever @dillonfloralcorp.6271 so Julie made sure that I knew about these and sent me some. I just love them! … Not many flowers come in blue, I’ve read only 10% of flowers are blue. These aren’t stem dyed or painted, these are genetically modified thru a collaboration between Suntory Flowers, Suntory Global Innovation Center, and the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO) in Japan. I’ve been doing a little research tonight and it’s really interesting how this is even possible💙… So, about making the little pumpkin. If you try this, be careful, the ones I have are hard like a gourd and slippery. I cut flower stems with a Swiss Army knife all day every day and I wasn’t thinking these knives fold in half. I would recommend a different knife that doesn’t fold for cutting the pumpkin. My knife started to fold with the pressure of cutting into the hard outer shell, but I realized it soon enough and I still have all my fingers🙃… In the little white pumpkin we have Ranunculus, scabiosa pods, broom corn, bleached ruscus, cotinus, seeded eucalyptus, and Brunia. I love fall, and pumpkins, especially white pumpkins, so I hope you enjoyed this little demo. We had a very special request for a football tribute and this is the finished product. It was an honor to create a piece for a man who has been such a legend in the Phillipsburg community. The first step to making this was to find out if we could get enough cushion mums delivered to us the next morning. We have an amazing sales person at our favorite supplier and she hand picked us 14 bunches of these bronze cushion mums. I love the color she chose, but what I think makes the piece pop is the texture of the variety she sent. They make the surface look dimpled like a real football.Next we thought about proportion and size. We decided it would be 24” across and Olga drew the shape freehand on a sheet of green styrofoam. (Always happy to have an artist on our team.) I cut this shape out of the styro sheet and then carved that down so the football would have some dimension. While my glue pan heated up, I made the bow in Phillipsburg school colors and Olga cut the laces out of white satin ribbon. I used small pins to secure burgundy satin ribbon around the perimeter so that the green styrofoam would not show. When the glue was at the perfectly melted I started to glue on the flowers. I snipped the heads of the flowers from the stem by choosing the most open ones first. One by one they get dipped in the hot glue and nestled into place on the styro sheet until it’s covered edge to edge. The finishing touches were to glue on the laces and the white stripes. Then we hung the football on the easel and attached the “Beloved” script onto the ribbon.I’m really particular and wanted this to be perfect since it was being made to honor a truly great man ❤️ I think start to finish it took about 4 hours to make and used all 14 bunches of the cushion mums. I’m happy with how it turned out. We only make these types of tribute as a special order and not very often, but they are always so meaningful and always #madewithlove ❤️❤️❤️#footballcoach #tributeflowers

🌻Celebrate the season with Bountiful Wishes! The idea was to create a different kind of design that would change along with the fall season.This time of year there are so many different varieties of local grown flowers that we can only get for a short time. Ordinarily we wouldn’t use these for a web site product because they are always changing. But what a fun idea, to create a fall design that changes as the varieties available to us also changes. We wanted an arrangement that will transform along with the leaves around us. How wonderful that Bountiful Wishes will not be a cookie cutter design. Each one will be unique, but still have the same look, feel, and colors of fall🍂 in this dimpled orange glass vase.I am so happy to share with you how this came about. We got a shipment of glass vases in this week. There are a lot of new vases, but I am loving this orange dimpled vase and really wanted something in it on our website. I gave Rose some basic guidelines and this is what she came up with. We tossed around some ideas for names and finally settled on Bountiful Wishes🍂 I just love it 😍 The guidelines…Include some flowers that we have on standing order so that we can always maintain the same look and feel of the design.
