When there’s been days and days of rain, the weeds take over. It was a nice evening of weeding. Can finally see the Cala Lillies now. Here’s a sweet little Daisy, who decided to take a nap under some broccoli instead of helping.

I asked the chickens why we can’t grow any flowers in our perennial landscaping beds. They were all too busy for a meeting. These farm employees are not interested in flowers. They’re interested in bugs. 🐛 🪳 🐞 Their egg production is good. We’ll see you guys with our farm fresh eggs tomorrow at the Chippewa Valley Farmers Market on Birch Street. Eggs are gathered daily and laid by very happy hens.

We’ve been resting all winter but spring is coming and it’s time to get our boots on and grow some flowers. If you don’t know, many farmers start their seeds indoors months before our last frost date so they have a good start before they are put in the ground. Also, if this isn’t done, the growing season in Northern states is just too short to get to harvest stage. It’s going to be a beautiful Spring and Summer around here. Visit us at the Farmers Market.
