What do you love to do with your images after a session?

What I love most about offering albums-

There's something timeless about flipping through the high-end pages of an heirloom album. As a mom, these precious pieces offer more than just photos. They narrate stories of time and love frozen in a stylish, enduring format. Being able to have them out as part of my home makes my images so much more valuable to me than simply posting them on to an album on Facebook (though believe me, I do that too!)

On my mind-I'll take any thoughts here!

I've been considering rescheduling blossom minis to be earlier this year (they are currently early May). I know it's been an insane winter as far as weather and I am worried about early blossoms... but does anyone know ANYTHING about this?! I am clueless when it comes to this stuff!

I would truly appreciate any insight you have! And also- if I moved blossom minis up to sometime in April, would that work for you??

Ok Moms, real talk.

How many of you end up with your kids in a fight or some kind of pile when you try to take a photo of them? These are my own 3 boys abut 3 seconds before the end of the world AKA they toppled and were over it.

People always think I must have tons of great photos of my kids because I'm a photographer, but the real story of it is that they are just as crabby for me with photos as your kiddos might be for you!

I have so much more luck capturing images of other people's kids than my own! And I LOVE getting goofy with them and having fun to get those real smiles.

When it comes to your wedding photos, would you rather have them sitting on your coffee table to flip through every day, or collecting digital dust on an old drive on your laptop?

I know the answer I'd choose. YES I love having digital images and being able to share them on social media, but there is sometime so special and timeless about being able to sit and enjoy the artwork that your images truly are.

When is the best time to schedule your senior session?

ANYTIME, but my personal favorite is summer! You'll want to get them taken care of before the craziness of senior year really begins. I think if you can get your portraits in by July before your senior year, you will be thrilled!!!

Heyyyy! I feel like I haven't shown my face around this pace in a while!

My name is Alisha!! (If you couldn't guess that one!). I own Alisha Marie Photography and have been shooting weddings for almost 14 years!! (WHAT?!) I recently added seniors and families to my business as well and I am loving it all!

I also teach 6th grade. I am a mom and 3 baths (ages 13, 11, and 9) who play (between the 3) cross country, baseball, swim, and basketball. So basically, I thrive on busy!

In my "spare time" you can find me planning my next vacation or with a book in my hand.

5 things you should consider when choosing a wedding photographer:

(Feel free to add your own in the comments!!!)

1.) Experience. YES There are some wonderful newer photographers AND we all start somewhere, but the more experience a photographer the more they've seen. And let me tell you, 13 years in.. I've seen it ALL. It's not just about the photos, but having a photographer who is prepared for any situation.

2.) Their personality. Again, it's not just about the photos. You are going to be spending a large chunk of your wedding day with this human, make sure you click! If you don't get along, you'll remember that feeling when you look through your photos!

3.) Their Style!! Don't just a photographer just because your friend liked them or they were the first result on Google if their images don't resonate with you. Each photographer has their own shooting and editing style. If you find you'd want to ask them to change something, you'll probably be happier asking someone else to shoot your big day.

4.) Reviews- What are their real clients saying about them? 'nough said.

5.) Will they share full galleries. Any photographer can get lucky and have ok images to share on social media, but ask to see what a full wedding day gallery looks like. This will also give you a feel for what their images will look like in various types of the day and lighting.

One of the things I LOVE about this job is that it can take me literally anywhere! Want a session outside of Wisconsin- Don't be afraid to ask!

Bella and Justin live near Phoenix, so Tyler and I flew out there and had A BLAST, plus we got some desert hiking in during out trip as well!

"Have Camera, Will Travel" is no joke here! If you have a spot in mind, I will probably jump at the chance to shoot there! My favorite places I've ever shot so far have been Paris and the Arizona desert. I cannot get enough!

Have you heard that bookings are open for the class of 2025?! I've had quite a few spots get taken already! I'm down to only ONE spot in MAY and THREE in August. June and July and starting to get picked over too!

Can you believe it!? My senior reps are GIFTED a free cap a gown session, but I am considering offering cap and gown MINI SESSIONS for you and a small group of friends. These minis would be a small cost, but would be easy to split between 4-5 of you. Comment if this would be something you would be interested in.

I know cap and gowns often come in during mid-so the week prior to most graduations is when I am looking into hosting these!

Why do all my full wedding and family sessions include an album credit?

Because I want my clients to be able to treasure their memories every day, not just when Facebook Memories or Google tells them it's been a year (trust me, I get how that one goes)

Having a physical album allows you to really cherish the photos we create together instead of simply throwing them up online in an album and then forgetting about them a week or two later. They will become a part of your home for years to come.

I purposely did not put any certain gear on this list.YES a good camera matters- knowing how to use it REALLY matters, BUT without the things on this list, none of that matters.You NEED to hire a photographer that you feel comfortable with or your photos will just end up reminding you how awkward you felt.Let’s be honest, being in front of the lens in a pretty intimate experience, and one that most people don’t have a chance to get used to on a regular occasion. You need to find a photographer you can laugh with and be yourself around so that when you look back and your photos, you remember how much FUN you had, not the stress you were under.
