What a day ✨ Several months ago asked me to collaborate with her on her English Garden Party themed table for the Garden Club of the Eastern Shore Tablescapes 2024 fundraiser and I of course said yes. We have had such a great time planning and designing and it all came together perfectly yesterday. I got to meet so many wonderful people who all love flowers and had a lovely flower themed afternoon capped off by an inspiring talk by . And can we talk about this gorgeous tablecloth by ? Huge shoutout to for all her help from start to finish.

These flowers are faux and they’re rentable. First photo is with some light editing for drama. Second photo is unedited. Faux flowers have come along way. Just sayin.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I am really starting to like carnations. For a long time, the only carnations I saw were the grocery store ones that were bright red, bright pink, white, or some dyed version to match a holiday. But did you know that they date back to Greek and Roman times, were reportedly Shakespeare’s favorite flower, they smell like cloves, and they come in over 300 varieties? They are also super feminine, full of ruffles, and have incredible vase life. Last year I bought some old fashioned carnation seeds from and I’m going to try growing my own this year. Until then, you can bet I’ll be tucking as many unique varieties in my arrangements as possible, including my Valentine’s offerings. What are your thoughts on carnations?
