Prom. Tis the season. Our focus since Mother’s Day has been corsages and boutonnières. Lengthy phone calls with moms who want to get it just right for their daughter or son. Hands on customers that visit us in the shop to pick out their own ribbon (pro tip: we LOVE this approach and encourage you to do the same). Online orders with notes about dress colors and ultimately trusting us to match it as best we can. Emails with dress pics. It’d serious biz around here.

One trend that I absolutely adore and has been very common in the South and other areas of the country are dance bouquets or as we call them “prom posies”. A bouquet instead of a wearable corsage. Love, love, love! We made a few this year and I highly recommend! A group of Senior girls even got together and DIY’d them…brilliant! ()

I have a love/hate relationship with gift cards. I know some see them as the easy or lazy option to gifting. I understand this but also, sometimes we just need easy options! If the person you’re gifting to has a favorite shop, hobby, brand and you know they will take the time to pick THE perfect gift for themselves, I say go for it!

April can be a bit slow in the flower world. The calm before the storm. A few weeks of lighter schedules before the rush of Mother’s Day. I enjoy it but it always makes me a bit nervous.

We know that flowers are a luxury and we want to thank our very loyal customers for trusting us time and time again to put our best foot forward in providing you with the lushest and freshest, regardless of budget.

Just some recent work I found on my phone. The Spring is really springing at the shop right now. The local blooms are showing OFF!

Ranunculus, tulips, anemone, lilac, fritillaria, narcissus, and so much more. Oh! I even spotted bleeding heart today at the market! The selection is thrilling.

When we opened our doors in January of 2021, we had a room dedicated to flowers where customers could select blooms by the stem. From our perspective, people LOVED it. The challenge we faced was the lack of refrigeration. The longer those blooms were out of the fridge, the shorter their little lives. Freshness is Queen at our shop and I was worried that quality was being compromised. So, the flowers were banished to the back of the shop where we could keep them cool.

Question for you all. Would you be interested in being invited into our workroom and cooler? If we opened our flower studio and work space in the back of our shop, would you visit us and talk blooms? You could watch us work and choose your stems. Shop floral supplies, vessels and tools and have premade arrangements to choose from.

Not sure if you know this but you probably do! We take pictures of every floral gift that we deliver. Every. Single. One.

When I started FIELD, it was important to me to fill some of the gaps that I had experienced as a customer. One of them was the reassurance that the flowers that I had ordered were high quality and designed and delivered as expected.

We send delivery notifications to every customer with a picture of the gift that their loved one received. This sets us apart from many florists and to be honest, our crew is so proud to show off our work.

Easter blooms on the porch while supplies last. Mixed tulip bunches, ranunculus, anemone, muscari, daffs, and more by the stem.

BASKET OF BLOOMS

As a florist who focuses on sustainability and does not use floral foam, using baskets can be tricky and in some situations completely out of the question for a long lasting arrangement. We have the most charming cement planter “baskets” that are the perfect solution. This planter can be used even after the fresh blooms fade. Pop two 4” potted plants or herbs in her and voila! she’s now been transformed into to a kitchen window planter. Need a cute vessel to stash your mail, keys and wallet? She’s perfect for that too! We love this new vessel and know that you will too.

Special life moments call for special blooms and I’m a firm believer that bigger is not always better. Quality over quantity has been something I’ve strived for in my personal life and while I don’t get it right 100% of the time (fast fashion trends have had a hold on me for years), I have a strong urge to purge and have less “stuff”.

Simplify.
Find beauty in the details.
Appreciate and be present in the moment.
