Aging with dignity and integrity is slowly being threatened for those who planned, not just the ones who didn’t. Important programs are at risk. If you’re a caregiver, a potential caregiver, a friend or a neighbor, this is something to get behind.

It benefits us all.

All are invited to join Senior Rally Day 2024 on May 8th from 9-3PM.

The Rally is an annual event with anticipated attendance between 500-600. This virtual event will feature presentations by Kim McCoy Wade, Senior Advisor on Aging, Disability and Alzheimer’s and Susan DeMarois, Director, California Department of Aging on the budget and Master Plan for Aging. Also invited are several elected officials who will speak to the potential impact budget deficits will have on programs providing services to older adults.

Planner to Bride:
So, who is your DJ?

Bride:
Oh, he’s part of my church and has gear.

Planner:
He has gear? Does he DJ weddings often?

Bride: hesitant… um, no. Would you be able to give him some pointers?

Planner: let me clarify, you’re asking if I can offer your DJ some tips on DJ’ing?

Bride: blank stare. Well, maybe write him out a script?

Planner: I’m sorry, that is outside my scope and although I have extensive event experience, DJ’ing a wedding is a skill set, one I do not posses.
Do you feel he could work off of our created itinerary with some prompts from the planner?

Bride:
Well, I was hoping to change some things around. I saw this itinerary on the internet.
Bride presents a popular itinerary.
Grand entrance for large bridal party (all 14 names with different music for each couple announced), right into first dance, all dances…bam, bam and bam!!

Planner: again, I’m not a DJ but I have admired over the years what it takes for my professional partners to execute this quick paced entry. I do not advise with your current choice of “DJ”.

Bride: Oh, we have a friend playing the playlist and an emcee who will announce.

Planner: expressing unreserved concern… have they worked together before?

Bride: no, they know eachother. And I have a Spotify list.

Planner: oh, it’s not the music I’m worried about…

Pro tip:
Stop f****** around.
