Feels like last night was a dream! We had an amazing time dancing with Fiddling Leona, JP Mathes II and their band at Carter Family Fold! Music was 🔥 and the historical venue gave me chills. Such an important part of our musical and cultural history here in these mountains. We’re so grateful for the experience and incredible crowd.

🍩KRISPY KREME! We’re selling Krispy Kreme Doughnuts to help offset the cost of new costumes for our Beginner dancers. 90% of everything we have—-costumes, shoes, and wigs— have been donated. Unfortunately, our donated school costume for the Beginners are in short supply!

Step right up and get your FAVORITE donuts! These are digital dozens—that means that you purchase the donuts and then will be sent a coupon to redeem at any Krispy Kreme. 50% of each dozen sold will be given directly to the dancers.

I caught this while a dancer was working on her technique. One of my most favorite things about Irish dance is the connection between newer dancers and established dancers. I love how they watch, learn and look up to them. ☘️💚

Our ADULTS danced two shows at Covered Bridge Days with the older Elite dancers and knocked it out of the park! These ladies work incredibly hard and I couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve accomplished ☘️💚.

Covered Bridge Days was a crazy and wonderful day! We survived technology issues, a bee swarm, and a small fall during the performance—-but it was all about friendship and memories 💚☘️. The crowds were wonderful and we couldn’t be more grateful. Exhausted, but our hearts are full.
Enjoy some of our pics from pre performance warmups, our walk down to the bridge, and the performance itself. Thank you to Elizabethton Parks & Recreation Athletics Page for inviting us to be a part of the celebration! This is one of our favorite hometown events.

THIS IS SOME CINDERELLA LEVEL STUFF! Classes begin this Monday (what?!?) and the hard shoe marks from our hardworking dancers had to be cleaned up. I normally do this job myself but my amazing Advanced and Elite dancers and their families came out to help! Lots of pizza, friendship, and Taylor Swift singalongs made it easier 😁. I’m very grateful and blessed to have such a wonderful group of dancers and families in our school. Many thanks to y’all as we have a great looking floor to start the new dance session!

THE JOURNEY—
It was March in Boston. I saw it and I fell in love….Irish dance would become my world. Looking back on that journey, I couldn’t have realized everything it would bring. The hard work, competition, community, and friendships. The long days and weeks leading up to championships. And, of course, the craic (the Irish word for a “good time” 😁).

Through that journey there was always a small thought in the back of my mind that I would come back home to teach, to share my love for Irish dance. But that road was long and winding! It traveled to Savannah, then the Florida Keys, then to southeast Alabama. Yet, that little thought was still nestled in the back of my head. Finally, it found the road back home to northeast Tennessee. Just the place where it was meant to grow.

My dream found a warm home to grow in thanks to Chrisann WattsTull kindness. I started small and kept tending to the dream. As it grew I knew it needed a space of its own. The downtown studio idea popped into my head and I knew it was the right place to plant and grow roots. Eventually, I met another like minded individual who was growing her own dream with August Muse.

Now our doors have been open downtown for one year! Thanks for the door and beautiful facade Tracie Mosley Young! The dancers and their families have kept coming, kept working, kept dreaming with me. Watching them grow and thrive makes my heart smile. Walking into the studio brings a smile every time because that little dream began almost 30 years ago.

As I prepare to begin our new dance session I realize that journey isn’t over but just beginning. I’m looking forward to seeing all the faces, new and old, as they start and continue their Irish dance journey.

And I keep seeing that Claddagh as the perfect representation of our little studio—friendship, loyalty, and love.
