The Cookie Crate is HIRING! 🍪

🍪August is back to school month and this means we are losing our part-time staffers to the books!

🍪We are seeking a flexible, part-time baker for our team who can work Monday/Tuesday and one additional weekday. (Typically 9a-5p and hours will likely increase closer to the holidays!)

How to apply:
Tell us why you answered yes to the questions below and why you think we feel these qualities are non-negotiable as a member of a close-knit, hardworking team. Include a resume and three references.

Please drop this packet off in a sealed envelope at August Muse or Auntie A's Barkery between Tuesday and Saturday.

🩷This Saturday, (7/27) the pink sprinkler is honored to host our very own Dancing with the Tri-Cities star, Lauren Clemson!

🩷You’ll be Sprinkled by THIS star ⭐️ from 2:30-6pm in the parking lot of Studio Dance and in return, you’ll have an opportunity to ‘sprinkle her with love’ to benefit Jeremiah School.

🍦🍪🍦PS - A new selection of custard flavors and The Cookie Crate cookies will be available.

🩷 It’s my birthday (Tracie!) and I’m also celebrating 8, yes E-I-G-H-T years of bringing passion and excitement to my sweet little Downtown Elizabethton.

I took the day off from my ‘big girl’ job today to wear pink and serve The Cookie Crate custard sammies to anyone who agrees with me that 90° weather is unnecessary. 🤭

🐶To include EVERYONE (including our 4-legged pals!) we are offering free custard pup cups topped with a famous Auntie A's Barkery homemade peanut butter treat!

Everyone is invited to this Sprinkled by Cookie Crate party and we will serve sammies until the sun goes down!

You asked, we listened. AND, we didn’t want you to have to wait until the weekend for our fresh The Cookie Crate cookies topped with creamy, COLD Sprinkled by Cookie Crate custard!

Tomorrow, Tuesday, July 16th is my birthday (Tracie!) and I have convinced my fellow Sprinkletteer Abby to let me to take the day off from my ‘big girl’ job and crank up the pink sprinkler!

We will be located directly behind Undervalley Dragway Hobbies, Fletcher’s Homemade and August Muse on the second block in Downtown Elizabethton.

We knew (but we REALLY didn’t KNOW) how amazing this little idea was going to be for us and our community.

We’ve gotten messages ALREADY:

And you know what’s funny? Our BRAND new custard machine froze up on us yesterday and one hour before launch we weren’t sure this was going to even happen.

🙏🏼We quickly found out there was a different plan for us. A BIGGER plan.

🩷You’ll find us slingin’ sammies on the corner of Parkway Blvd and West Elk Avenue adjacent to Family Furniture, directly across from Sycamore Shoals State Park.

🩷We won’t leave until we run out of custard!

👇🏼👇🏼PS - This introductory menu offers our two most popular Cookie Crate cookies (both GF option as well!) along with our original vanilla custard recipe.

Our custard machine makes 9 flavors of custard at once and our selection of cookies AND toppings will increase as we get comfortable with the flow of our new business. Please be patient with us as we learn how to ‘sprinkle’ you most perfectly!

‼️This is always public information, but I will be applying again and will ALWAYS apply so that I can continue to elevate Downtown Elizabethton by investing in my personal property.

❤️I LOVE that we have access to these funds and am thankful that the city continues to provide opportunity for those willing to match their contributions!

There was greaaaaaat confusion about the awarding of grant funding last year so to help spread the word, I’m also helping the city get the word out.

🥇🥇INVEST, y’all! It’s worth it not only for your personal property but the legacy we leave behind in making our community safer, more beautiful and vibrant for all to enjoy! When one property owner wins, we ALL win!

“The City of Elizabethton - Government will open the 2025 City of Elizabethton Façade Rehabilitation Grant Program applications on Monday, August 12, 2024.

✏️ To learn more about the grant, we invite you to a • PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING • on Monday, August 12, at 5:30 PM in City Hall Council Chambers.

At this meeting we will discuss eligible projects and the application process.

As a reminder, the City of Elizabethton Façade Rehabilitation Grant Program first launched in Fall of 2020. The purpose is to provide incentives to improve the exterior façades of structures that are located within the Main Street District of downtown Elizabethton. Eligible properties must be located within the Main Street District and have a service, retail, or mixed-use occupancy with an active ground floor area that is accessible to the street.”

🍦🍪We invite you to join us for our ‘soft-serve’ launch, THIS Saturday, July 13th!

🍦🍪Our special friends at Family Furniture have given us permission to use the corner of their property this summer and we are SO grateful! 🩷

This perfect spot is located directly beside the Tweetsie Trail, across from Sycamore Shoals State Park at 1722 W Elk Ave, 37643.

🍦🍪The Pink Sprinkler will open the window at exactly 2pm, we plan to stay until later in the evening or until we run out of custard!🤭

🍦🍪We will be posting our full menu tomorrow, so stay tuned and in the meantime, spread the word! (One lucky sharer of this post will get a free frozen sprinkle sammie!)

🍦🍪Our FINAL inspection was completed today and we are officially official. Our next step is to introduce our custard truck to YOU, our sweet community of friends and supporters!

🍦🍪SAVE THE DATE: Our ‘soft-serve’ launch will be Saturday, July 13th in Elizabethton. *Location to be announced.

🍦🍪We will be starting out with a simple menu as we learn how to best ‘soft-serve’ our community.

🍦🍪Initially, we will offer 9 rotating flavors of custard and several of the Cookie Crate’s most popular cookies. You can try one of each OR create your very own custard sammie with toppings. Either way, we guarantee it will be sprinkled with love!

There hasn’t been any active marketing on this boutique event space in over two years, yet by word of mouth it continues to grow and make my heart happy. 😊

Thank you to Elizabethton/Carter County Priority News & Alerts for providing an open platform for conversation regarding this exciting topic.

And thank you to City of Elizabethton - Government for such a great explanation! Education in all things is key. You’ve outlined this clearly, and we all thank you.

This is great information for anyone who might not understand the grant process and how it actually works - or for those who were unable to attend the informative, public meetings held before each cycle. It’s actually quite a detailed process and therefore hindering some from further pursuits.

I am sharing this as one of those recipients who applied and received funding, addressing public concerns with my receiving this grant twice. I will personally meet with anyone to discuss any specific details that might still be confusing or unclear after the city’s post. I typically don’t entertain social media but because this was so far fetched it seemed necessary for this to be used as a teaching moment.

I would also be more than willing to further educate any concerned individual on how much my husband and I have both contributed to these properties in order to match this grant funding.

I have been so fortunate and have encouraged so many others to apply because what we have been able to do. Those projects would not have been able to come to fruition without available funding. We are beyond grateful to contribute to the vitality of our downtown and the sacrifice from our own pocket has been substantial. You have NO idea!

I am also willing to sit down with anyone who has a desire in the future to apply and guide them with the application process. When one person wins, our community wins and I am all in favor of seeing success for Downtown Elizabethton and both committed property and business owners. ♥️

Education starts with being connected. I was on the steering committee for Main Street Elizabethton, I have been a member of both Main Street and the Elizabethton Chamber from their onset as well as sitting for four years now on Elizabethton’s Industrial Development Board.

Let’s continue to do great things - and also, another thank you to the city for applying for this funding on our behalf. I know I speak for all of us when I say, the community thanks you. 🫶🏼

There is a facade grant program and the DIG grant program that seems like it is going to the same business owners for the last many years when we have businesses applying downtown that have buildings in desperate need of repair. How is it that one business in particular is getting it and others are not? Seems the golden ticket giving applies to the city also. Followers want some answers.

Today, Building 520 was honored to host a BEAUTIFUL tea party with special friends and family celebrating a milestone 80th birthday.

Although life has been incredibly busy the last few years, (I rarely remember to snap pics!) memories being made in the space I love so very much brings me joy I can never explain!

I am grateful to celebrate another new year in this sweet little Downtown Elizabethton and am excited to see what is in store for 2024. 🌷🌷
