Rock and Rhythm

Rock and Rhythm Closed With over 18 years of experience, I served as a DJ and MC for thousands of people by providing quality sound, music, lighting and fun!

Rock and Rhythm provided DJ Entertainment services to Lancaster PA, Harrisburg PA and York PA for Wedding Receptions, Dances, Parties and Corporate Events. In fact, we provided professional Disc Jockey service to the entire Central Pennsylvania area including Hershey, Lebanon, Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, Elizabethtown, Mount Joy, Columbia, Wrightsville, Red Lion and everywhere in between. My goal fo

r each wedding, picnic, birthday, or any other event was to keep the party moving and keep people entertained, while making sure that I provided the most memorable experience for the hosts and their guests. I had the pleasure of using my Disc Jockey talents for weddings, parties, and company events throughout Pennsylvania and the surrounding states. I performed at nearly every type of event. From Wedding Receptions in huge ballrooms to Birthday Parties in small backyards one thing remains the same: no matter how much equipment, lighting, props and amount of music a Disc Jockey brings to a show, it's the personality, knowledge and experience of the DJ that can make or break it.

Hi Facebook people! It’s been a full year since my last post, and there’s a reason for that. I’ve been keeping a little secret from you. Towards the end on 2018 I decided that 2019 would be last year for Rock and Rhythm. On Sunday I performed my last event, an afternoon wedding at Cameron Estate Inn. What an incredible journey this has been! I’ve told most of my clients the story, but I started DJing back around 1989 in the Philly area, moved into radio around 1994/95 and then gave it all up to move to Central PA about the turn of the century. Later, my wife’s cousin asked me to DJ a wedding for her around 2010/2011 which rekindled my love of DJing and kicked off a side business for me that’s lasted almost the entire decade. During this time I’ve had amazing experiences, had a lot of fun, jumped around like a goofball behind my “turntables”, and got to be a part of a lot of couples most special days.

I would like to thank all of the couples that allowed me to play a part in their weddings, most of the venues and vendors I’ve worked with, and all of the people that have put up with my bad photography on this page. Also, thanks to the many people that referred me to other friends or relatives. That one wedding I did for a cousin started a string of linked weddings that led through every year until this year. I’m really proud of that.

I’m also thankful for my family allowing me to be absent so many weekends to follow my passion for this work. I’ll be spending more time with them now.

I’ll post a bunch is 2019 pictures that I’ve been saving, but this one picture is probably the most fitting picture for me to go out with. As the sun sets behind my set up, and with a checkered floor below (which if you know me well it’s kind of my thing), it’s the right time to say, “Goodnight Now Ladies and Gentlemen.”

Rain has been an on-going theme this year for weddings. Relocating everything under cover did nothing to dampen the spirits of Karen & Don's wedding at Drumore Estate in July. Everyone took the weather in stride and carried on. Although I didn't get pictures, the bride and groom even enjoyed an impromptu swim in the pool (in their wedding clothes) after the reception was over. Really glad to be a part of this fun wedding.

In July I returned to Harmony Hall Estate to celebrate the marriage of Wendy and Jon. The weather was absolutely beautiful for the ceremony, and the bride and groom didn't look bad either! Another fun night, and not too smurfy! (see the review)

One of the highlights from June, maybe the year, was Erin and Jerry's wedding reception at Best Western Premier The Central Hotel & Conference Center. No one wanted this party to end. Fun people who liked great mix of music! These photos do not do the night justice. The Central Hotel Harrisburg Hershey Weddings

Finally getting to post some highlights from 2018. Yes, I know it's October - don't judge me! I've been going through a lot photos to come to the realization that I'm a horrible photographer, so over the next few days/weeks I'll show the photos from events that are somewhat Facebook worthy. Keep in mind that I'm not saying the events weren't Facebook worthy, these will be just the photos that make the grade.

We'll start with April where I got to celebrate with Sheena and Sean at a friend's farm near Red Lion. To be honest, it was probably a bit on the cold side to be outside for the night, but I was not all disappointed with event. This was the second time I've had the honor of working at this farm and it was beautiful as always. The Sheena, Sean and their guests were wonderful to work with.

In December I got to celebrate Shelby & Shawn's wedding and it was a blast. Both of them had been to two previous weddings that I DJ'd so I was extremely honored to be asked to work with them. The reception at Harmony Hall Estate was beautiful and we all had a great time!

November brought me back to Hebron Hall in Lebanon for Kelly and Stephen's wedding. Everyone there was warm and friendly and we all had great time. No need to take my word for it, here's Kelly's review on my WeddingWire page:

Brian is an excellent DJ! I highly recommend him! Between talking with Brian over the phone and entering our wedding details into the client login section of the website, he made planning less stressful. He did an excellent job at mixing songs together - all we had to do was provide him with a few songs that we definitely wanted played, and he did the rest! Our guests kept telling us that they had a blast at our reception, and Brian definitely helped to make that happen!

In September I finally got the chance to work at Ironstone Ranch. Ironstone's a big deal in town now and with the acquisition of the locally renown Star Barn, they're only going to be bigger. The more important thing on this day was Brittney & Pat's reception. It was held in the Main Barn and as you can see from the pictures, I had a birds eye view of the activities. The dance floor was hopping all night with a fun bunch of friends and family.

2nd update...

In August I took a trip up to Sweet Arrow Lake County Park to help Jenn and Brad get married. The weather, unfortunately, was not cooperating. About an hour before the lakeside wedding was supposed to take place, the park's staff warned us about hail and a possible tornado in the area, so the decision was made to move the ceremony undercover. It did pour, but it didn't reach the predicted epic event. In fact minutes before the ceremony was to start things cleared up and made for a relatively dry entrance for the bride. Everything was wonderful after that and we had a great time.

Attached are some of my photos, but the really good ones are from my friend TODDG Photography's site. Be sure to check it out: http://www.toddg.net/2017/08/29/married-jenn-and-brad-at-sweet-arrow-lake/

First, back in July I was at the Cameron Estate Inn to participate in the Wedding Ceremony and Reception for Kelsey and Kyle. I had such a great night, I only got one decent (ok, it's not that good at all) photo. Best of luck to the bride and groom, and a big thanks to the great staff at the Cameron!

June brought me to the Cork Factory Hotel to celebrate the wedding of Elizabeth & Bernard. I had previously DJ'd for Bernie's sister so this one was extra special for me. I was not disappointed at all. It was a fantastic night all around and the dance floor was packed again. Loved the songs the guests requested, including one I haven't done for years that was a big hit - Electric Avenue. The venue looked great with the uplights. I'm always honored when asked to do a repeat performance or a referral for a guest or a relative from a previous event. I could get no better compliment. I have another wedding coming up later this year with a guest from this wedding that I'm really looking forward to. Thanks to all!!

The next in the "get caught up" series. Gabrielle & Tyler got married in Halifax at the Armstrong Valley Winery in May. Both the ceremony and the reception were a lot of fun. They had a friend officiate who did an outstanding job. It made it very personal and touching. In addition to that, their guests were a lot of fun to work for and had some great taste in music.

In May I was at Moonstone Manor. The surroundings and the atmosphere there were wonderful, although just a little hot for May. Katie & Brad's wedding couldn't have gone any better. The ceremony was beautiful and dinner was lovely. By the end of the reception, no one wanted to go home.
