💐WINDY HILL FARM - 2024 Tulip Subscriptions! 💐

• It’s FINALLY here….thanks for your patience, so many have asked for these subscriptions, and I know I’ll need to adjust some things, but let’s give it a try! 😉

• This week I’ll be posting the link daily to order, the form will be live until MONDAY 5/13 - First pickup is Tuesday 5/14.

• What to expect: On the next three Tuesday’s in May, the 14th, 21st, 28th, you can stop by anytime after 9 at either our farm, and grab your wrapped tulip bouquet with your name on it from a bucket on our porch, OR stop in after 9:00 and grab it from the boutique side…don’t forget to get an extra hot northern light latte while you’re at it! 💐☕️👌🏻

• In the form I left a space for you if you have special requests with pick-up day or even delivery available if needed. 🤍

• Each week your tulip bunch will be kraft paper wrapped and include 10 tulip stems and a packet of flower food. Most of the tulips we grow are double tulips, meaning they have a layered look and higher petal count - some think they look like mini peonies, I just think they’re amazing. I can regularly get 7+ days of vase life! I add fresh water daily, and I like to trim the stems every couple days to keep the shape of the vase looking nice…the tulips continue to grow after they’re harvested!

• I’ve reserved a limited number of subscriptions, allowing me to use our tulips for my design work, sell wholesale - so these beauties can get to even more people, and I like doing pop-ups and meeting new faces, I have a handful planned in the next couple weeks….so order sooner then later! 😉

• If you’re needing something tangible to pop into a card for someone that you plan to gift the subscription to….maybe for Mother’s Day 😉, make note of that in the space on the form, and I’ll do my best to get something for you before Sunday!

🤍 Thankful for all the support and love this past year, so many made my first full year of working just the business a success!

🤍 Grateful that I’ve been able to do what I love, and share the joy of flowers with people. Even when things get a little overwhelming, and the hours are long, I remain grateful that this is my job.

🤍 Incredibly blessed to have met so many amazing people this last year, people that appreciate the value flowers add, and continue to share my name….you guys are keeping me busy, and I’m thankful for you!

It’s been quiet, but busy! This stretch of warm temps have allowed us to get so much done on the farm! Spruce tip installs are near complete, fundraiser items go out next week, hosting a couple private classes with some fun ladies and then decorating our home for Christmas! 🎄 I sure hope we get some snow by then, I love a white Christmas! ❄️

Looking forward to having the time to work inside over the winter on the many projects we’re too busy to get to during the growing season! Finding balance, and trusting the paths and doors that open. So many ideas and plans….just trusting the process! 🤍

•Mums, mini pumpkins, fall decor for inside and out, dried grasses, DIY grapevine wreaths, broomcorn bundles, succulent pumpkins, fresh dahlia and straight eucalyptus bunches, and misc. other finds!

🍂This sale is at our farm, on the porch. No public restroom this season.
🍁The pumpkins are mini, a few larger white ones available - not Jack-o-lantern size!
🍂Mum sizes are the ones we use for our planter installs, fit great inside your planters…no jumbo Costco mums here!
🍁Cleaned out some of my fall floral inventory, lots of fun things to add to your fall planters, or inside!

🤍 Yesterday …. 10th Annual was something special, highlight to the season for sure!
The work this organization is doing for so many, is inspiring. Well done , and team!! Go over and follow their page for more highlights of the amazing day!!
Thanks to my husband, Rich for getting up early to help me load and setup. Huge thanks to for helping harvest all the flowers, haul, setup, clean up and sell….you’re hired my forever friend! 😘
All the sunflowers left with families, and my hope is they bring a smile all week long to them as they remember their loved one. All wrapped flower bunches sold too. 10% will be donated back to Thumbs Up.

We chatted with so many yesterday, and heard stories of why they were there, shared tears when they talked about their special person.
I hope the flowers that went home with everyone bring joy this week, know they were grown and harvested with love just for you. 💛💙

🤍💙💛 Mental Health Matters 💛💙🤍

So grateful to be joining the fun on Saturday: 9/16, at the 10th annual Thumbs Up Race!
We will be donating the sunflowers that will be in the Grief Support Tent, and I can’t think of a better way to share these sunny flowers. 🌻

At our vendor tent, 10% of everything we sell will be donated back to Thumbs Up, to help show support in the work they are doing in not just our community alone. The work of bringing awareness, ending the stigma of mental illness, and providing resources is such important and crucial work for not just youth, but adults and seniors too.

I want the community to know, that we support their great work, because Mental Health Matters! 🦋

We'd like to mention and say thank you to Amber from . Amber is donating 300 sunflowers on race day for those who have lost a loved one to su***de.

Please stop by the Grief Support tent to pick one up. There will also be grief support therapists in the tent who would love to chat with you!

Windy Hill Farms will also be there in the vendor area selling flower bouquets with a portion of her sales going back to Thumbs Up. Thank you Amber!

•You can find our bouquets at another place in town - they will now be at Riverside Farms off Hwy. 10!

•We will restock weekly on Friday mornings, with fresh harvested bouquets for you to bring home for the weekend. We may add another day as the season continues if we need to.

•We harvested the first of the sunflowers yesterday, and the dahlias will be soon to follow! Farm pick-up options will be added for September.

👏🏻👏🏻 Great story Belinda and Julie did! Very informative about the local Slow Flowers Movement! They shared how amazing locally grown blooms are, and how most of the cut flowers you buy are actually imported.
Local is best, but given our very short growing season in MN, that can be hard. Thankfully there’s many US based flower farms that we can wholesale from, and have product shipped direct from the farms, cutting down the time the product is stored and sitting dry in a box. The added days from harvest to vase shortens the vase life for the final customer.
I follow all three of the flower farms they visited, and they all grow great product.
I’ve visited Molly and her team at Northerly Flora and they know their stuff, and the hard work shows! 😍

One in every five cut flowers comes from another continent, so local flower farms are on a mission to change that.

💐School is almost done…and I’ve got more white tulips then I need!
🍎End-of-year Teacher/Staff - Thank You Bouquet! bonus: jars can be used to hold pencils!
✏️Details: $30 total, includes delivery to any ISD #728 school on Tuesday 5/23.
They can enjoy the blooms all week, and you won’t be hustling the last days of school to find a gift!
Limited supply, until my white tulips are gone!
