Another High Land Jammer has moved on. John “Pops” Dickerson recently passed away. Pops loved taking photos of the bands, and he was an excellent photographer. He came to many Jams, and left lots of love behind him. We will miss you, Pops.

It is with great sadness that we share the news that a much-loved High Land Jammer, Adam Leaf Gershwindner, has recently passed away. Leaf was an enthusiastic attendee and participant in the annual event and with the host band, ZEN. He will be missed by the live music community. We send our condolences to his family and friends.

Sometimes sad news brings you back to the past, and a visit to the past brings back emotions that come to the forefront. We learned last week that a young musician we knew well passed away unexpectedly. Jill Rosemarie Unger was the lovely, sweet, soprano and multi-instrumentalist in the folk duo "Folk by Association". She passed away February 16. This duo, Jill and Karen, played on our Pegasus Farm Campground at the High Land Jam for many years. Our last Jam was in 2016 and we sold the Farm in 2023. Going into all the pages to find photographs brought back so many memories, that it took me a week to write this post. I did find photos from 2011 and 2012, but I think the duo played a few years before and after that. Sometimes Jill and Karen would come early to help me set up, get the decor ready, make food for over 100 band members comprising 20 different bands for a full weekend. Whew, just writing about it makes me tired!!
She is joined by many who graced our farm through the 20 years we held music events. Many fine musicians and music lovers have passed away in the past 20 years. I guess Jill is joining a new band.
Jill Unger was always on the side of our beautiful earth and environment. Her obituary link is included here. Plant a tree for her, please.
