Elko County Commissioners recognized Nevada Senator Pete Goicoechea at their October 2, 2024 for his decades of service to the citizens of Nevada. Commissioners noted his skill in fighting for the rights of the rural citizens and working with all parties in doing what is best for Nevada. He will be missed as a representative of our area.

Here's a story for you guys, and it makes me bawl a bit .

I remember when I broke out bartending in at one of these little casino joints somewhere in Elko in 2022. I had a gentleman come up and just sit down. In usual fashion I'd say " I know your old enough to be in here, but may I please see your ID for the " eyes in the sky"? ( sometimes people get extremely frustrated when you card them, so I proceed to ask kindly and not make it offensive )

He proceeds to hand me his card, everything's good. I ask " what can I get for you, my man"? He tells me " I had my wife leave me today and take my kids, she got with one of my co workers and I just need to get away, and I'll take a Bud( weiser)".

I bought his first. I proceeded to talk to him, and the more he vented. After an hour or so, he says " well son, I got to get going, I'll see you next time" and with out thinking I turn around, and wave and yell " I'll see you next time" .

A couple months , he rolls in smiling and says " hey jr"! I turn round and say " hey man, you seem happy today"

He sits down and orders a Bud, and as I'm getting it for him, he gives me a $2 bill as a tip. I say thank you, and do the tippy tap for the camera.

He says " Hey Jr, can I get something of my chest with you?" I look to him as I'm cleaning glasses and say "the floors yours man".

He then says" I came in here a couple months ago thinking my life was ruined. I ended up losing my job, and ended up going down hill. But what motivated was the kind words and hospitality you've given me on that day. I was going to have my last beer, and just prepare to meet my maker that day" ( I don't have to explain what that means, but my heart sank to my feet when he said that).

"When it got hard I would constantly think of what you said, baby steps, baby steps. Son, you won't get me, or you can, but you saved my life. That 2 dollar bill I just gave you, was the 2 dollar bill I found a couple hours before I walked in here. Id like you to have it, and may it bring you good luck as it did me, and thank you"

Sometimes, it's okay to sit down and have a drink and talk about your day.

I know I said I'd only do small drops, but I've got alot of positive words about the gold bars, and alot of people are always working, so I decided to do a big drop..

Here's your hints:
If it's in the picture, it's in that area, but look alittle harder this time. Check out side curbs, sidewalks, banks and trees. This one isn't easy for you guys so check everywhere.

Also, #00300 is in the wild as well, and she's a copper bar.
