Alford Drilling's Annual BBQ has grown from a small gathering to a full-blown event. Over the two-day event, nearly 200 clients, vendors, and employees joined us at Alford HQ for delicious, hot, off-the-grill fare from local favorite Iron Pig Food Truck, who also promoted our partnership at their food truck at the Expo. Guests finished their meal with a sweet treat from a local cottage baker, Endless Flavors With Christina. Thank you both for making our event a success!

It seemed like a lot to ask... to run our rigs to the day before the annual MSHA refresher, get everything winterized, and report the next day for three intensive days of training. Yet, Alford Drilling crews and in-house trainers powered through it all. As it turns out, the feedback was almost unanimous the event was a great success.

In addition to the opportunity to support the local and state economies, we're thankful to:

- Elko Convention & Visitors Authority for the perfect space for our team to come together.

- Iron Pig Food Truck, Dos Amigos, and Dreez for providing delicious mid-day meals.

- Shutters Hotel for housing a bunch of drillers anxious to be on holiday break.

- State Fire, 3M, Legarza Exploration, LLC, BC Wire Rope & Rigging, Techline Mining, and International Directional Services LLC for their presentations to complement the eight-hour standard MSHA requirement.

- Mining companies, Nevada Gold Mines and Calibre Mining CORP, for their presentations on client expectations and miner’s rights.

Whether investing in the local businesses or investing in ongoing training of Alford Drilling employees, we’re striving to make 2024 safer and better than anything we’ve done previously.

Thank you to our clients, vendors, employees, families, neighbors, and industry friends, who skipped the long lines at area restaurants to relax and enjoy a delicious meal at the 3rd Alford Drilling BBQ during the Elko Mining Expo last week. Food included right-off-the-grill brisket, BBQ ribs, and street tacos. And for dessert, homemade salted caramel bars and churro cheesecake! Entertaining co****le competition, golf cart rides for the kids, backyard games, and lots of conversation… a good time was had by all. Steve even reunited with a co-worker from 40 years ago, Mike Mottet, when they worked together on an RC rig in Casa Grande, Arizona. Big shout out to professional event planner, marketer, and sister Constance Alford Sablan. She made it look easy.
