Our Story
When you discover Elko, Nevada, you quickly see why this truly is the “Great AmericanWest”. A land of adventure, capable of stretching the limits of your adventure, meeting and/or convention to its fullest. The raw majesty of Elko County's Ruby Mountains and the rugged canyon streams will let you discover the unspoiled drama of the West. The Elko Convention Center is ideally located in the heart of the city, within minutes from hotels, a variety of fine restaurants, coffee bars, museums, shopping, entertainment and exciting attractions. This 11,000 square foot facility with free parking can accommodate groups for meetings and conventions up to 500. The Laurena Moren Theatre housed within the Elko Convention Center is the perfect venue for performances of any size and has a full 50 by 45 foot stage. The auditorium seats 913 people and is equipped with a complete sound and light booth. The Elko Convention & Visitors Authority offers comprehensive pre-convention and program planning for conventions, workshops, conferences, trade shows, reunions, parties or receptions. The city of Elko sits at an elevation of 5,060 feet. This high desert community experiences four mild annual seasons. Fall is spectacular, heralding in warm days and cool evenings. Winter months bring average high temperatures between 37-43 degrees with lows averaging between 25-31 degrees. Spring months bring warmer temperatures accompanied by cool nights. During the warm summer months the average high falls between 80-90 degrees, Much of Elko County's precipitation comes in the form of snowfall. The annual average is less than 10 inches. The dry climate provides a moderate climate, making it an ideal year-round vacation spot to experience a variety of recreations and outdoor sports.
