To all our beloved customers and cherished community, it is with bittersweet sentiment that we announce that this month, Elkton Florist will be cutting its last flower and closing its doors.
Spanning over 33 years and 3 generations, the journey of our family business has been nothing short of amazing. From our start in a small store front on East Main Street, to our expanded operations as a global franchise on the corner of Bow and West Main, we always embraced growth and worked tirelessly to deliver only the best for our customers. We have loved playing a special role in all your celebrations, milestones, and holidays, we were continually honored to be trusted to memorialize the lives of your loved ones, and we feel forever grateful to the town that has long supported our success.
In recent months, we’ve needed to shift our focus to different needs within our family, and because of this shift, we cannot meet demand or staff the hours necessary to adequately maintain a full-service flower shop that never sleeps. Over the next few weeks, we will be shutting down and selling the last of our inventory to make way for a new business to eventually occupy our space. Elkton Florist, however, is our legacy, our life’s work, our identity, and our name. Therefore, we have come to the decision not to sell the business or its name, and we encourage our dedicated customers to support other small, local florists in our area.
Our ending is far from a failure. Rather, it is one filled with flowers, chocolates, beautiful memories, and a bright outlook for our next steps. The Hair-Schwartz family will always be part of Elkton and will always advocate for its thriving business center. But for now, it is time for us to say we love you, we will miss you, and we thank you for your years of support.
