City of Ellsworth and Fletchers Landing Township
Extended Registrar of Voters Office Hours
The City of Ellsworth Registrar of Voters will be in session from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on October 28, 2021 in preparation for the November 2, 2021 State of Maine Referendum Election and City of Ellsworth Municipal Election. Sample ballots for both elections can be viewed at www.ellsworthmaine.gov.
Ellsworth and Fletchers Landing Township residents are encouraged to absentee vote, register to vote, and make name/address corrections to their current registrations during this time.
As stated in the Secretary of State’s memo for September 2021 mailing #2:
The deadline for a voter to request an absentee ballot, including a ballot voted in the presence of the clerk, is Thursday, October 28, 2021, unless the voter completes a special circumstance application.
The “special circumstances” are:
* An unexpected absence from the municipality during the entire time the polls are open on Election Day (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM);
* A physical disability;
* An inability to travel to the polls because the voter is a resident of a coastal island ward or precinct;
* An incapacity or illness that has resulted in the voter being unable to leave home or a treatment facility.
There will be a Registrar of Voters at the following Ellsworth polling locations on November 2, 2021 from 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
Ward One
1 City Hall Plaza 2nd floor Auditorium
(Downtown Area - east side of the Union River).
Ward Two
4 Old Mill Road – Your Place Community Center
(North Street, Ellsworth Falls Area, and Fletchers Landing Township).
Ward Three
867 Bangor Road - Maine Coast Baptist Church Gymnasium
(North Ellsworth Area).
Ward Four
1 City Hall Plaza 1st floor Council Chambers
(Bridge Hill Area - west side of the Union River).
