We are expanding our Teaching Artist roster and seeking collaborative, experienced artists in many areas including theater, music, movement, visual, and media arts, and most urgently seeking a TECHNICAL THEATER Teaching Artist!

Ideal candidates are progressive and offer engaging classroom strategies, with a classroom management approach focused on meeting people where they are at, collaborative problem solving, and restorative practices.

💡 Qualifications:
Prior teaching experience (preferably in schools)
Expertise in your art form
Creative, engaging classroom strategies
Experience with early childhood education

💼 Details:
Hourly pay: $50-$75

Despite the weather on Friday giving us an interesting start to the weekend, OASIS Weekend Arts Retreat was a huge success! We loved hosting a great group of kiddos who spent the weekend living, creating and learning together. ☀🌈

Our amazing teaching artists and year-round staff created and facilitated so many great workshops and activities. From “Whomst Line is it Forsooth” to Zine and Printmaking to Ephemeral Art to building our own Cardboard Communities, we had a blast. 🎨🎭📒🌼

Appel Farm is so grateful to our incredible partners and all who made this event possible.

Yesterday our program team launched day camp for kiddos from Camden and Salem Counties. It's been really hot, but tons of fun too! ☀️

Kristina Hill, Executive Leader of Education was able to jump into the action with her team, and led a connecting circle and community art moment. She invited the kids to go on a 'Imagination Vacation' to talk about their dreams, hopes, and goals for three weeks of arts day camp together. Kristina says the most frequent word shared by them was 'fun,' and the group quickly pulled this collaborative mural together reflecting on their imagination vacation and their connecting circle share out.

Can't wait to see what else these kids come up with in the next couple weeks! ❤🎨

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! 📣

Appel Farm is excited to announce that we’ve begun an innovative new chapter with a change in organizational leadership. We are grateful for Executive Director Jessica Doheny’s years of leadership in service of Appel Farm, and we wish her well on her next adventure in the arts!

With change comes opportunity. In response to this transition, we are proudly exploring a new shared leadership model which we feel reflects the values of the organization, will serve and support our community, and creates a sustainable path forward for Appel Farm. The Board of Trustees have appointed an Executive Leadership Team, composed of three senior staff members at the organization:

Craig Getting, Executive Leader of Advancement
Kristina Hill, Executive Leader of Education

Appel Farm is pleased to announce that at Tuesday's annual New Jersey State Council on the Arts meeting, we were awarded a 3-year grant that will provide General Operating Support for programs in Salem County and beyond. This includes a $10,000 grant to support in-school arts residencies benefitting South Jersey students. Our staff and board are grateful to the Council for this commitment and for recognizing the impact of Appel Farm’s innovative arts education programs.

🎉 CAMP HAS BEGUN! 🎉

Despite the stormy weather on Sunday, our campers dove right into Appel Farm Arts Camp excitement. After a smooth check-in process, they enjoyed guided camp tours, engaging bunk area games, and a delicious dinner. The evening was capped off with our Welcome Extravaganza, where campers had the chance to create, connect, and get to know one another. 🥰

This summer we are allocating the new, small classroom as our “Sensory Shack" where kiddos of all ages can decompress and relax. As we are finishing the interior work, our attention now turns to the furniture to make the space feel welcoming and cozy! 🪑😊
