This is a message for people to remain diligent.

I booked a catering gig for a guy who said he was having a party for his family for their support, since he was going through lung cancer treatment. I did notice that his name didn't match the email address and that did make me wonder. He gave me a legitimate address that he said was his house. I Googled Mapped it but didn't go any further. Later I discovered that the house had recently sold and he had never owned it. I sent him an invoice for the deposit and he responded that he couldn't remember the total amount so I sent him that amount again. He said he was going to ask me for a favor but didn't say at first what that was. After I sent him the total amount again this was his response:
"Ok got it. The little assist I need from you is about the DJ of the event. He's the one coming with Chairs, Tables,Canopy. Also, he's the one who is also going to serve drink at the event however he need me to make the payment for that so he can have everything organized before the date and payment validates order, and he does not have access to credit card facilities to bill me on for the payment and I can only make payment with my credit card at the moment.

I will send over my card details now to you to run for the sum of $5,169 on my card,or you send me an invoice to make the payment. Once you have the funds available in your account, I'm making $1,319 as the required full payment for the service. You take $400 as tip for the errand and charges fee, the remaining $3,450 I want you to withdraw and send it to the DJ on my behalf, so he can meet up with the date for the event, so there won't be any delay.

This is when I knew that he was a scammer. I cancelled my invoice immediately and said I would not communicate further. I also reported him to the Attorney General's Office.

I honestly never thought that something like this would happen to me. I'm just a small fish in a big ocean but apparently they can find you. I will definitely do my homework from now on.

As a lot of you know, I am in the process of building a food truck in a school bus. A food truck allows me to serve a larger variety of foods than I can from the hot dog cart. I will still serve hot dogs from the truck but I will also be serving slow roasted shredded roast beef sandwiches as my main item. I will have a standard sandwich with a choice, or both of my own homemade BBQ sauce and a homemade horseradish cream sauce along with specialty items such as a Philly Cheesesteak, a Bacon & Blue Cheese Mousse sandwich and a Blackberry Balsamic Glaze and Cream Cheese roast beef sandwich, for example. I am still developing the menu and I would like you to please give me your opinion on a potential menu item.

I am considering serving a roast beef bowl that would have my succulent and juicy slow roasted beef, whole kernel corn, scratch made beef gravy from the au jus that the beef is roasted in, and garnished with chopped chives.

My question is would you prefer to have mashed potatoes or cheesy grits as the base of the bowl? Please leave a comment below as to which one of the two choices you prefer.

I appreciate the feedback as it helps me decide which items my guests would enjoy more. Thank you and have a great day!

I worked on the bus before the game today. The white caulk tape doesn't work verywell, so I'm going to pull it up and replace it with the sealing tape. I need to get the electrical done first, then I will do the plumbing. The water pump is up and ready to go.

I got the hot water heater mounted and I will mount the water pump once I get the correct screws. My buddy Jon, the electrician and neighbor came over today and is working out the electrical needs and generator requirements for the food truck. A little more progress.

The sandwich prep fridge had a problem on arrival. One of the casters only had 1 bolt holding it on, plus it was bent. WebstaurantStore is sending me a new caster with 4 bolts. They are making it right.

I was fortunate to cater lunch for the grape picking crew for Safehouse Winery last Saturday. They had a great turnout so the harvest went quickly and I was able to feed the hungry volunteers. What a great day we had!

Danny's Street Eats & Catering will be at the Back to School Rendezvous in Elmwood on Tuesday, August 13th, selling hotdogs, smoked brats, and cheddar brats from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. We can't wait to welcome everyone back for the new school year!

I glued the floor down today. I need to wait for the glue to cure and then trim and caulk. Yay, more progress! Thanks again for your help Tony, I appreciate it.

I glued the wood to the floor and caulked and spray foamed the gaps, but of course was about a quarter of a can short of the spray foam. I probably went a little crazy with it though. 😜 Next step is to put down the vinyl floor; that's what is in the roll. I also removed the glue that was stuck to the outside of the bus where the letters and reflective tape was.

The letters and reflective tape have been removed from the passenger side and still working on the driver's side. It's quite the tedious process.
