The gang is all here on Saturday. Wow we got lucky with the warm up. Tim Jr., Justin, Makayla and Christine will be assisting with the fish fry on Saturday. Order up now or just walk in. We are going to be so much more prepared than we were last time. Sorry folks we didn't know what to expect! We have 100 meals available this round. After that, we are sold out. Last time we had 60 and sold out by 12:30.

Ok hopefully last post for the day but no promises LOL. Here is some fun things coming to our store.

It's the perfect time to bring seafood and fish back to our store! We sold a ton of it last year. So guess what I just ordered? ANOTHER FREEZER!

Where are we going to put the darn thing? Well, we have gone back and forth so many times regarding our event space. We really don't book enough events to justify what it costs to run it. SOOOOOOOO. Event space be gone.....BOUTIQUE BRING IT ON!!!!! Our toys and boutique items will move into the current cafe/event space.

Yep, I guess I just love the idea of offering great gifts from Eolia. Convenient and local and all that good stuff. However, it is so costly to stock a new adventure and right now I'm spending spending spending! Thank goodness I handle all the financials Tim might freak out. But he IS on board with this plan. What we know from our store in Wildwood, the more products you have the more products you sell. We're "banking" on it folks. I'm going to work as best as I can to offer continuous sales to keep things as competitive as can be. I mean, a sale with some profit is better than no profit right?

Ok so seafood and fish and then boutique sounds weird right?

But we will separate and our boutique will all be in the current cafe/event space and our grocery store will be in the current blue carpet space.

Again, be patient, it will take time to be able to afford the inventory to fill things up.

My biggest accomplishment during our time off is getting a new point of sale to reduce our fees. In addition, I have a new app that I was able to customize and add our bar codes to the label so that when we check you out, it's a smoother process. It also eliminates errors which can cost a small business a lot of $$.

We will also have a touch screen that will be more user friendly. We had a little glitch in getting it here so I probably won't be up and running when we open next week but I'm getting there.

It's an exorbitant amount of work up front but it's worth it in the long-run!

Hey folks! Are you aware we have a new auction house in Eolia? Yep here we go growing again! And yes it’s right on Main Street next to Calvins on the end. Their name is ECC Auctions & Estate Sales and they have been around for a while but just relocated to Eolia.

Their first auction is this Saturday! Come visit them, grab a coffee from Midwest Mornings and then come grab a catfish dinner from me! If you are not a catfish person, we will have pulled pork, salads and some other items in the grab n go but you are also welcome to go visit Calvin’s for steak or a burger or McDingerz Sports Bar & Grill across the highway.

Then head on over to This and That Antique Mall for more shopping and fun!

What do I love about Eolia and the surrounding area? People (our customers) are so nice and understanding. If we don’t have something or have sold out, they always understand. They don’t mind our ugly blue carpet and our less than perfect sidewalk and parking lot.

I read posts about people complaining a lot and I know they are out there, but we just don’t experience it ourselves.

Some of the recent posts I have read about people complaining about their trash not being picked up remind me of my old career and the MANY crazy complaints I use to get. For those of you that don’t know, I was in commercial real estate for 27 years and the last 18 years ran Maryville Centre Office parks as well as 5 other developments in the St. Louis area.

I could write a book about the experiences with high maintenance people but one that comes to mind right now is when I received calls about when the landscaping crew mowed the grass. The complaint sounded like this…. “I just went out to my car to find that when the landscaping crew mowed today they blew grass clippings on my Mercedes, Maserati or Porsche”. That’s hardship right there folks! It was hard to bite my tongue back in the day and I often didn’t. Love the people in our community and their realistic approach to life!

Tomorrow we won’t smoke any new meats but we will be open from 12:00 to 4:00 to sell the remaining grab n go items. Then I’m off to cheer on the Chiefs!

Y’all now in stock I have a whole new selection of Duke Cannon men’s products. I think a lot of these nuance are new to them as well. We also now have shampoo, deodorant, face wash, face, lotion, and more.

Given the weather forecast and the fact that I will be restocking produce tomorrow (Monday) and I have a private event anyway, we will open tomorrow when I return maybe 3:00 or 4:00 and be open until 8:00 or so. I’ll post when we get back. I will also have several new meal kits in stock
