We have been busy 🍇🚜
This harvest season has been wild, much of it partly due to the unseasonably wet weather, which pushed back our start date. But it has been underway for about a month and a half, and it all began with harvesting our white grapes.
After the grapes are harvested, they get sent to our cellar, where we begin sorting out MOG (Matter Other than Grapes). This includes leaves, sticks, and even snails and ladybugs! Bad clusters, either rotten or bee-damaged, are also sorted out.
Note the photos of the Roussanne clusters before sorting (brown clusters, stems, and leaves) versus those shiny and beautiful post-sorting clusters! These grapes are now ready for the press.

🎇 New Cellar Release: Bourboulenc 🎇
Bourboulenc (pronounced boor-boo-lonk) grapes are ancient white grapes dating back to the 1500s and are rarely seen in the States. In fact, they are mostly confined to the regions around Avignon, France (including Châteauneuf-du-Pape). So, this release is a very exciting and special one for us and YOU!
Aromas of honeydew, quince, and citrus translate to the palate along with a tangerine-like zesty component. With citrus blossoms and granitic mineral notes present, Bourboulenc tends to have a slight spice (in this case, ginger and nutmeg) along with a toffee note in the finish.
In the words of our sommelier, Adam, it is "mouthwatering and addictive," but don’t take his word for it—join us on Sunday, September 10, for the official release and taste it for yourself!
The tasting room will be open from 11 AM to 7 PM.

Watermelon Mint Sangria Recipe🍉🌿🥂
Grab a bottle of white wine and some watermelon, and get this sangria by @styledbydaisies in the fridge so you can enjoy it this afternoon!
The best white wines for sangria are those that lean to the drier, more acidic, and crisp side of the spectrum; think Pinto Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc.
As far as our wines are concerned, the 2022 Rosé is an ideal choice. That said, we live by the rule of pouring whatever Rancho Guejito Vineyard wine you like 😉
Extra alcohol and bubbles are always optional!

Fresh watermelon, muddled or blended with water and strained
1 bottle of White Wine
3-4 oz White Rum
2 oz Orange Liqueur
1 oz Simple Syrup
1 oz Brandy (optional)

Prosecco (optional)
𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
Add all ingredients to a pitcher and refrigerate for 1-3 hours. To serve, pour, add ice, and top off with Prosecco!
