Grand Opening of the Freckled Bloom Workshop. We will have a beautiful bouquet bar, premade arrangements, some other flower bling, and the roadside stand will be stocked alllll day too.

Let the craziness begin!!!. Not enough hrs in the day at this point! BUT thank you Fall Self for alllllllll those bulbs and perennials I planted…One less seed to sow, seedling to baby, and soil block to plant.

I get asked alllllll the time… Rechelle, what do I use to transport my jars of flowers home? Well, Tucker is making special carrier boxes for ya. He will have them for sale during Mother’s Day weekend at our Grand Opening of the Freckled Bloom Workshop. The Freckled Bloom kids will be running the flower bar in the shop for another season while I work as fast as I can to make flowers. The roadside stand will be stocked also 💚. Save the date 🥰

I am super proud of my two team members! They have been working so hard in school, and their report cards were proof of their hard work. Since they were babes I’ve had them at my hip with allll my entrepreneurial adventures. Whether it’s at my pop ups, holding vases in the car, or running our Mother’s Day Flower Bar… they’ve been an essential part of this business. Sooo… make sure to give them a 👍🏻 at our next event or a 🖐️when they are gifting a bouquet 💚

I get asked a lot about growing and all things FLOWERS. So, I’ve decided in the upcoming season to have a unique hands on experience of what I’m calling “Rechelle’s Garden Club”. It will be your opportunity to come learn more about the farm, get your hands in the soil, nerd out on flowers with some floral arranging in the Freckled Bloom Workshop. Flower friends make THE BEST friends, and for the longest time I’ve had the desire to build a community of those who want to talk allllll about flowers and be excited like I am. Now that I have the space… I can’t wait to have more flower friends. More details to come…. But make sure you’re following along. Spots will be limited 🫶🏻

Today I have on my mind as I see the first potential cutting emerging from the tubers I’ve woken up from their winter sleep. Here on my farm dahlias have been a huge experiment. I HATE digging and storing dahlias, and honestly it’s a TON of awful work and storage I’m not willing to sacrifice. Soooo… they stay in the ground! Each fall I add a luscious layer of compost on top of them, increasing that mount of protection for the winter (I am a potato farmer’s daughter, and dahlias are a lot like potatoes). I did something really cool when I first planted the dahlia rows… I amongst the dahlias while also planting wheat. As a result, those rows offer me diversity and beneficial crops all season long when the dahlias aren’t in bloom. Once the dahlias emerge, they hide the daff foliage that needs time to die back and isn’t that pretty. I also have been planting other beneficial plants in between and beneath the dahlia canopy to ward off pest and provide a food source for my beneficial insects. Over the last 4 yrs, I’ve focused on more ball dahlias, because in my opinion they have the best vase life 💚. Caveat… everyone has an opinion. You do you boo! You’re the only one that knows your space, and you’re going to kill plants in the process of learning, but don’t be afraid to experiment. 😘ps….

When the season gets rolling …
I have 0 time to prep jars. So, each day in the winter I’m taking off labels, putting on stickers and cleaning jars for the season ahead. When you bring back your Freckled Bloom jars.. you save me this step, and as a result it keeps the cost down & I put more beautiful flowers in that jar 😘. Not to mention that jar keeps living a beautiful life! From Day 1, I’ve been focused on reducing my waste and these recycled jars have been a huge part of that journey. Thank you for continuing to skip the garbage can and recycling your jars at the roadside stand!
