Somehow I totally forgot to introduce the man, the myth, the legend...Brook "The Silver Fox" Carter!!
I truly don't feel this one needs any intro but for our new comers, here he is!
Brook Carter is THE main man when it comes to Drop The Mic Productions!
Meaning...there would be no Drop The Mic if there wasn't a Brook! Brook and his handy dandy side-kick, Kelly (it's me, I'm her 🤪) started this business in 2016! Just a tad shy of their one year marriage anniversary!
Brook comes from a long line of amazingly talented singers and musicians! Those Carters love to get together and sing! He and his family have entertained weddings, family gatherings etc for as long as he can remember.
During the week, you might catch a glimpse of him driving an 18 wheeler for Gearig Civilworks! On Friday nights, he hosts the hottest karaoke line up at our favorite watering hole called R & R Bar and Grill!
I tried to ask him the same questions I asked the other DJs but he just rolled his eyes at me...basically the same thing he did when I said "Let's buy equipment and start a business!" 🤣🤣 If you missed his post on April 25th, he does explain what he loves about this path we've chosen! Although he thinks I'm slap off my rocker most days, he enjoys working with me! 🩷
Being married to your business partner isn't always fun & games...we've learned when to stay clear of the other one on wedding day but we always end up having fun together! Laughing & loving right alongside of the family we're with that day!
Brook primarily works weddings with The I Do Girl these days! He likes the way I coordinate and run the show and I love having my "homebase" sitting behind the DJ booth! We've done this together for so long, we can practically read each other's mind from across a crowded room!

Nic "Rocz" everything from school dances to pool parties to weddings!
He's often mistaken for my husband (this is Kelly btw) because we do work a lot together! So I just tell people he's my work husband! And yes he has the ability to annoy me like the real one, Brook!
When he's not DJ'ing, Nic is all over the local music scene as a drummer and promoter!
Getting him to answer my "interview" questions was no easy task! (Again he likes to annoy me like the real hubby! 🤣🤣) And getting him to send me photos of gigs is like getting through Augusta with no road work or traffic...IMPOSSIBLE!

So a few day's ago Kelly DeLane Carter ask me what I love most about working weddings. Joking I said the last dance and fake send off because it's almost time to go home.🤣 Wanting to make this post I held back a reason. I have realized that over the years as I am working the ceremonies that I focus more and more on the vows the Bride and Groom use. Whether they are traditional or written I listen and take them in every time and think , Brook are you sticking to and following those vows said 9 years ago? Even though I fall short sometimes it's a steady reminder to do better!! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Kelly, thank you for loving me, pulling me up, pushing me and doing it all right beside me! I LOVE YOU 💜💜💜
Meet Wade Kehoe!
Wade has been with Drop The Mic Productions for a bit over a year now and we can't stop "raving" about this guy!!
His warm nature makes you feel like you've known him for forever!
Since I've had a tiny bit of downtime, I've asked our team a series of questions to help y'all to get to know them better! Here's how that went!
Kelly: Wade what's your favorite thing about the wedding industry or wedding day?
Wade: 1) the food (it's always the best)
2) that moment your playing and old song and the entire family sings along
3) the smiles and love share among the family even before the music starts.
4) I simply love being apart of such a momentous occasion they may not remember a single song I play years down the line but they will remember how they felt and I love being apart of making that memory last.
Kelly: What's your thoughts on working with DTM & The I Do Girl?
Wade: 1) I don't feel micro managed
2) it's always fun when we get together
3) I get to play some beautiful places
4) your networking abilities are amazing
Kelly: If you could give each groom one piece of marital advice, what would it be?
Wade: The little things matter don't ignore them don't forget them.
He then went on to elaborate that he doesn't have much experience there but he goes by the example his parents set which was communicate, comprehend & comprise.
Kelly: In your personal time, what are you doing?
Wade: In my free time if I'm not behind the turntables I'm working behind-the-scenes making plans for my local electronic music community planning our next event which has been made possible through the work I've done for Drop The Mic Productions.
Wade has spent the last 13 years behind the turntables and is a true asset to our I Do Crew! Thank you Wade! We appreciate you so very much!!

In 8 years, we have tried many things to help our business grow! I do believe we are currently at our best!
Most of you know the story of how Drop The Mic came to be...adult beverages at Monterrey's karaoke on a beautiful April afternoon! Kelly had a bright idea, Brook thought she was crazy...here we are!
(Come to think of it...this is pretty much how we are daily! 😉🤣🤣)
Anywho! These three guys make up our DJs!!
On the left, we have Nic Campbell!
Nic, is highly involved in Augusta's music scene as a drummer & promoter! But he also finds the time to take care of countless DTM weddings, school dances and private parties!
To the far right is Wade Kehoe! Wade is a ball of energy that you want in your life!! When he's not providing amazing beats for a DTM event, you can catch him DJ'ing at local clubs and promoting & mixing beats for amazing raves all while running a family owned business too!
That middle guy, he's the one and only Brook Carter but you all knew that! Brook not only works a full time position with Gearig Civilworks, you can find him making brides & groom's begging for a slow song cause the dance floor has been lit! He also runs a very popular karaoke night each Friday at R&R Bar & Grill! But if you want to "get on the list", get there early!

Well, you see, I'm the one who'll answer your inquiry, communicate with you, suggest songs for you, meet with you, calm your nerves AND I'm the one who gets all these guys ready for your event!
